Can't say I've seen an official statement anywhere when D:OS will be available for download.
GOG support has posted a vague 'in approx. 2 hours' about 4-5 hours ago.

And that's it.

A 'GOG keys will go live tomorrow' somewhere on the kickstarter page doesn't mean the people who already have one will have to wait. Steam players are already playing the game.

Nothing on the Larian website even hinted about different release dates for Steam and GOG when we were redeeming our keys.

It's not the wait itself, but the total lack of information from GOG and Larian. Just post on the frontpage or a sticky in the forums when download will be available. Or whether or not it's going to be today. Saying nothing is 10 times worse than a last minute delay for any reason.

You have to understand a lot of people have been looking forward to this a very long time and at this moment we are kept totally in the dark.

Just post a statement and be done with it. We'll thank you for this.

Coelocanth: There's an 'announcement' Here. Looks like tonight/tomorrow.

Personally, I lay this completely at Larian's feet. There's no excuse for them not to have a release build ready for GOG to go live with it at the same time as Steam. Not to mention the screw up with people who backed the game actually getting their GOG codes. This fuck up is losing sales for GOG and if I were GOG I'd be damned pissed off.

That doesn't excuse GOG's woeful lack of direct communication. They shouldn't have this info buried in a user-created thread. It should be announced by GOG staff. But yeah, I blame this delay and screw-up completely on Larian.
^ This.
the answer is no.

Codes from pre-orders will be sent tomorrow, those wanting to buy the game that have not pre-ordered either have to wait till the end of August for it to come out with galaxy support (not really sure this is enough of a reason to justify it) or buy it elsewhere.

Chances are a lot of people will do the latter.

I really don't see the point for not selling the game now and add the support later on.

I predict a big discount for D:OS on Steam for the last weekend of August.

cause stuff and reasons....

fucked if i know, this debacle has not exactly helped GOG's new galaxy thing.

"We have a new game we can release but you have to wait 2 months after everyone else gets it so we can add an "optional" client to it"

Surely there was a way of releasing it then when galaxy is ready have the option of integrating it to the client. I mean if the client is TRULY optional, then why cant they release it now...

Well, it IS optional. The game is also optional. See how fair they are?
