Am I the only moron who will start an RPG over and over and over because early on I will let some small aspect of my character agrivate me to the point that it becomes a nasty itch that I can no longer resist the urge to scratch (in this case delete)? The reasons for being disgruntled for me can range anywhere from one misplaced skill point, a bad haircut, an ugly piece of equipment, 2nd thoughts regarding the characters name, choice of sidekick, the list goes on. I believe this makes me an "O.C.D. Gamer". Am I alone here? Should I be in a padded room?

You are not alone lol
You're definitely not alone.

That padded room is likely to get very crowded.
Not alone at all :). Character creation is always kind of stressful for me because of that.
Consider me in the same league :D
Same boat here, gotta get it right, so I constantly re-roll.
I have cought myself re-rollin a character just to do a quest differently :D In every gamer there is that little nasy O.C.D. bug that won't let you enjoy the game with your original choice.
Same here, I'm always rethinking characters and/or not getting them precisely right.
Consider me in - but I want a place in a corner ^^

But seriously it's not only that. I also tend to restart the game all together after putting it down for a while because I can't get back into the game/not remembering where I was or the lore/not identifying myself anymore with the kind of character I created.

But good to know that I am not the only one with these issues. ^^
This guy.
I think we need a bigger padded room.
I am not that kind of guy. I play RPG games as "interactive story". Sometimes I make my character flawed for a purpose - for example, playing a dumbass in Fallout 2 can be pretty funny sometimes :D

My characters in RPGs have many flaws. Some of them get aggreviated quickly, some of them are short-sighted (literally), some of them are naive.

The true perfection is on the creators side - Fallout creators made it possible to play and win a game with such characters.
Haha well I am glad I ain't alone either (currently playing Arcanum and I had to restart it 4 or 5 times!).
I used to have the 'iron man' mental illness for a number of years. If my character died I had to start over.
Thanks for the replys everyone. I only ask because I just realized I've played all of my RPG countless times but only ever finished one or two of them. Titan Quest was nice enough to offer a mulligan when you got to Sparta. Too bad by that time the game had gotten kind of repetative.

If keeveek is right about Fallout then I'll just add one more to my list of reasons that I have to get that game.

Happy Hollidays
