So here is the problem. My brother and I like to play point and click adventure games (like Myst for example). I basically run the game on my computer and use a screen sharing application so that he can see what's on my screen on his computer. We have been using Teamviewer which works quite well as it also streams the game sounds as well. However, it's not perfect as it only updates the screen about once every second if the mouse is not moving so it becomes choppy (when the mouse is moving, then it's completely smooth).

Basically, I am looking for possible other alternative programs to use that offer both game video and sound streaming. If not for the choppy video without mouse movement, Teamviewer would be perfect.

Thanks for help!

PS-we don't need voice capabilities as we use skype or regular telephones.

It seems that software’s such as Broadcom, vmukti etc. will best serve your needs as you require game, video and sound streaming. In addition to TeamViewer, you can also use various other desktop sharing services such as logmeinrescue, gosupportnow, GoToMyPC etc. in order to remotely enable desktop screen sharing.

Have you tried Skype's screensharing function then?

Also, I believe XFire can make a live videostream of your game, but I haven't tried it myself.
Thanks for the comments. I looked into some of these. Xfire looked promising but seems to only work with certain games and you have to make accounts. A lot of the games on gog that I play are not very popular or older so there is lack of compatibility information on their site. What I like about both Teamviewer as well as Skype is that they have portable versions so you don't have to install these and bog down my computer. The only time I ever would use these is during gameplay sessions so I don't want thing running in the background.

I'll keep hunting but thanks for the input and suggestions. Happy Holidays!
