Most of the people here know how great the GOG community is. It's better than most forums, filled with a lot of kind hearted and giving people. I wanted to share a few experiences I've had this month to show my appreciation.

In my personal life, my wife is pregnant and will stop working for 4 months, starting in a couple weeks. I also have an 8 year old stepson (who absolutely loves racing games). This leads me to have a very tight budget - as many of you have. Unfortunately, due to how things lined up, I was not able to have any money for the winter/Christmas sales that all the big distributers have.

I have been blessed beyond belief by this community! I've had numerous people gift me free games when I've stated "I would like to try that game sometime!" as a typical feedback comment. I was not asking for them- people just gave them to me out of the kindness of their heart, without asking for anything in return. It was a blessing, and I was thankful to be able to return the generosity in some cases by giving them a game I had a duplicate steam key lying around unused.

Over the course of my time here, I've one a few contests and giveaways. I even won a recent one that gave me $25 worth of GOG games. That was my biggest highlight until tonight...

Tonight I recieved a message from someone who was running a giveaway. I had entered a contest that offered several games, but just entered to win a racing game to give to my 8 year old stepson. I didn't win, but recieved a message saying that the person who won it had entered to win the game for my son.

Many of you may not have kids, but those of you who do will understand how amazing it is that someone would do something kind for your child... It's more of a blessing than receiving it yourself. They selflessly gave to my son- who they've never met, never talked to, etc... They just simply wanted to be a blessing to him. It left me speechless, turning a very very bad night, into a blessing.

So, to all of you who've given gifts, contribute to this community, or have been one of the people I referenced above, I want to say thank you! Thank you for being such a blessing! I'm glad to be a part of this community, and hope to be able to give more back in the future! Thank you!
Happy to see that you got that racing game for your son.. some really kind and generous souls here.. love this about this community.. not just the giveaways and the fact that people are willing to help each other out in general.. Happy to be a part of this community.. my wishes go out to you mate
Aww. That someone entered for your stepson is just plain sweet. :,) This is a lovely post. +1 and thank you for brightening up my evening. This really is an amazing community.

Yeah, its a decent community here :)

What I am liking is that it is multi national, spoke to some interesting people here from all over the world, have a few guys on Steam from GOG. Its all good.

We are all united with 1 thing, the love for classic gaming
The people here are really great, they helped me a lot in starting my blog and give me satisfaction from my (noobish) work xD

We all love gaming, and that is great :D
I am glad you like the community and I share the same sentiments about this forum. This is the first forum I posted in where I do not fear getting flamed or criticized for something completely stupid. I recall asking for help on Ultima VII and unlike other forums where if I asked that question I would be called an idiot for not figuring it out, I actually got a positive response with helpful advice. Plus I enjoy how generous people are with giving away games and I can not thank those people enough for them.
On other forums i have been suspended or even banned. On GOG they are accepting, and easy going. The forum community has been extremely generous also. Thanks to all.
Great story, Braussie. I felt warm inside reading it :) Very glad to see you've had great experiences here so far.
How lovely, kudos to the kind person who entered and won on your son's behalf...
Merry Christmas Braussie to you and yours. :D
This forum has some awesome members. The great thing about GOG is it has some wonderful titles that many of us remember very fondly from our childhood. So, while many, including myself, don't have children, we can fully appreciate the enjoyment classic games can bring both to children and parents. Many of us feel passionate about those titles and about the positive effects of gaming in peoples' lives and that is reflected in our generosity.

I won a giveaway this week an would like to give a big thanks to Zookie. People like him/her are one of the reasons this community has been so positive over the years.
I wanted to bump the thread so more of the people I referred to on here can be blessed. They have been truly a blessing to me!
You MAKE ME WANT TO PUKE UP...

...love and gaming everywhere!
