Just wondering, since my GOG collection is growing worryingly fast, how secure are gog accounts?

Can someone who knows about internet security comment on it? For instance, do I get a email if someone tries to change my password?

Are there any meassures I should be taking?

Just curious, not worried (yet)

Thanks
That's a nice collection u have there ...... do u mind if i borrow it O_O
They don't store any of your payment information so god forbid someone gets your password all they can do is change the memo under your login.

You seem to be losing your password a lot... :/

I don't know about the subject but I remember some threads about password protection. Here is one I found.
Well, I found one more, but it as answer it links to the first one.

I don't think there is any mail about password change, but I think it never happened so far. I may be terribly wrong, though.
Who knows, maybe it's not even me using my account right now.

Maybe someone gets my passwored, logs in, changes the password and downloads the games while leaving me out of my own account... Isn't that possible??

It's terrible. I'm actually an agent with the NSA posting with TheJoe's account. This TheJoe guy is an ass, too btw.

I think he would be better without changing the pass and getting fresh games from you (that you will get in the future).... :P

Chill mate - if some1 wants to hack u they will, but i have not heard of a gog a/c being done. Besides u would still have your games as Judas and company would sort u out.

Anything is possible, but I see that as a rather unlikely scenario. All the games here are DRM free, and if someone wants them that badly, I imagine it is easier to get them via other shady means than taking the time to steal accounts. There is no billing information stored here as far as I know, so they stand to gain very little if anything from doing this.

Aside from that, in the rare chance it does happen, the GOG guys are pretty cool and no doubt would help you get things sorted out as quickly as possible.

Just been in your account too, btw. Why the hell do you have VR Soccer?

Thanks, after reading that thread I realised how paranoid I was. Who the hell would hack an account to get a bunch of old games they can get for free easily by other means?

Sorry for being paranoid, it's just that I don't have that much money and I'll hate to lose my wonderful GOG collection.

You are a great community, by the way.

Thanks to everyone
