I always thought the wish list was the best indicator of what should sell the most. Out cast is number 10 on the list and master of orion is not even on there, yet its outselling outcast so far according to this weeks best sellers. Wonder if its due to the size of the games as Moo is super tiny compared to outcast. Well I loved MOO, probably end of getting outcast to though i have never played it, but there seems to be alot of good things said about it..
It takes a while for the Top 10 list to register the biggest sellers.
I see, would be interesting to see how many downloads a game gets, would indicate how well GoG is doing, I usually go off of how many reviews the game has, if theres 200-500 reviews then I assume the game has been downloaded alot.
Its probably because of a couple of factors: First off, MoO is a better deal, since you are getting two games for the price of one. Secondly, the MoO release has gotten quite a bit of internet press, since it is one of the most beloved 4X games ever. Those two things alone have probably done a lot to skew the top ten sellers results, but I'm sure that over the long haul, Outcast will rise above.
I really want both of theses games to do well for gog's. The better they do, the more games and publishers we get in the future. (As they see that the system GOG has works well).I'm sure they will do well though lol. I remember around Christmas, GOG gave some stats out as to how many members were around and I think how many games were download, Ah I cant remember, if someone could post that old link, would be appreciated.
the thing about the wishlist is that the top ten are ridiculously overvoted because they are the only ones that show up by default. everyone goes to the wishlist to vote for their favorite game, then remembers all the ones in the top ten and goes 'oh i love that game too' and adds their votes. outcast probably got on there early and stuck.

Yes, the top 10 would probably look a lot different if we'd been able to sort all the entries by number of votes from the beginning. I still hope that'll be possible some day.
