What the hell is this? I have never heard of this game, ever, and one day it just pops up in my inbox:
So it appears to be a Stargate game (durr) that's multiplayer only, uses Unreal Engine 3, and it's the first PC Stargate game ever. Apparently it was announced in December 2009 and it's out next month, so they're either really good at keeping secrets or it's a hack job from a company in financial trouble. I'm betting on the latter, but I'll check it out and give you guys an update. Others who can try out the game somehow (either with the key or whatever), check it out.

A good while back, some group was working on a 'Stargate Worlds' MMO. Last I heard, it was either in financial trouble or development was put on hiatus. Never heard of this one, but it looks like it's by the same group.

In the end I did, yeah. It actually grew on me a lot and I've been enjoying the later space battles. The away team stuff is fairly poor though.

Retail or what? How much? Thinking of getting it myself.

My usual importer don't have STO and there was no way I'd ever buy an MMO from Steam (wouldn't want to be stuck with it tied to my account when it eventually shuts down, for example) so I got it for £39.95 or so from D2D UK (also got entered into the draw for a chance to win either a 6 month or lifetime sub).
That's slightly more than the D2D US price, but like I say, I was able to get entered into the draw this way thanks to some very helpful D2D support staff =).
I would have liked the collectors edition though which is around $70 as it's the only way to get the Next Gen. uniforms sadly.

The keys already been had, if whoever grabbed it could post what they think of the game that would be great. Kind of curious if its actually good or not being a fairly big stargate fan.

I snagged it, but the download won't even work unless you're a fileplanet subscriber, and I haven't been able to find a mirror yet.
I was pretty interested, but I guess it'll just stay at curiosity. :(

Ditto. I'm curious too. I heard rumors the game was terrible and financial mismanagement was rampant. Still I'm curious since it has been in development for what? 5 years? Maybe longer? I don't have high expectations.

I fail to see the logic in these subscriber exclusives, especially if they never bother to bring a demo or trial out for everyone else at a later date. Basically kills all intrest from me if I have to pay another site to test a game.
