It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

×
I have been around for a couple years on this site. I have a library to be proud of. But one thing that's always kind of gotten in the way is that downloader application. There was that one time where I couldn't download games without updating, and it wouldn't update by itself, or that other time where it wouldn't download...

Well now it's refusing to die. I tried to exit the process, and it just sits there. I think this is an old time Windows 7 defect, and now it's affecting this downloader program.

I can't find support for it, Google shows nothing, so I'm throwing this out there to see if this is affecting anyone else, and if there's anything that can be done to separate the download program a little more cleanly. I have a feeling that the program is integrated with the browser as some kind of plug-in or something else going on, but it's exasperating.

If you have had better luck with a different browser, let me know which one that is.

and I do have this message:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

One last note: I am able to download if I deselect the GOG downloader.

Could you delete everything from the %appdata%\GOG.com folder, and try again? Moreover, could you send me a report (from the Settings window), please?

Just fyi...I had nearly the same issue with an earlier version of the downloader some time ago, and the above solution fixed it. For the most part, I find the GOG DL works pretty dang well, and is the way to go. To the OP, I'm sure GOG support will get you straightened out in short order, they have *always* solved my issues...

It says that it cannot find that folder (appdata/roaming/GOG.com). I reinstalled, rebooted, and back on track. Thanks.
