Gonchi: Interesting. And not a single mention of going the crowdfunding route... I admit, I'm pleasantly surprised.
Quite opposite here - I'd love to see it on Kickstarter.

Kickstarter = game on GOG on the release day (in most cases).
Nice! Hope it will be as good as first 2.
And remember folks: adventure computer games are dead for good :-D
I was going to say this is a mammoth announcement, but then I saw the top comment at the Eurogamer story.

I'm surprised so many websites (not including this one) seem cold to this announcement; after all, it's a mammoth event in the history of adventure games. There may well be grounds to pontifikate on the subject of inherent news coverage bias, in light of this polarizing announcement. "

Wooooo!

Azrael360: Great news. I only played the first game, but according to the article: " the final game isn't scheduled until 2014-2015 where it will be a "multiplatform" release. ", I have enough time to play the second game, before the third... :P
And I will have time to play the first and the second ;) Shame on me but I've never played them... I'm not exactly how it happened and I usually consider myself as an adventure games fan. But I will make it up for soon, I promise!

Yeah, but the previous games and Anuman Interactive are on GOG already, so we'll probably see it here shortly afterward or maybe even on release.

StingingVelvet: Same.

There really is no reason someone could not find an investor for a game like this in today's market, especially if they port it to touch devices. Glad they didn't go the KS route.
Maybe the KS Adventure Games renaissance send the message that the genre is still worth investing in? Especially with a known IP?
I'm also glad they're not going with crowdfunding - ETD is too far away to commit my money to it, plus it leaves me space to support other products that really need it.
But glad to have something to look forward to.
Makes me wonder if it really has to do something with KS adventure reneissance. I do hope to see other big publishers getting it on with more adventure games.

And I am happy, if they'll do it the old fashioned way. It's only a good thing if companies start seeing adventure games as profitable ventures.
syberia for me concluded, its longest journey thats needs a sequal
I am looking forward to this. I agree with what has already been said, that the 2nd game ended the story so it will be interesting to see what they do.
