Catshade: "General discussion"
Hmmm....
Good point. I think Martok is my favourite general, if it wasn't for Garak, Martok would have been my favorite secondary character on Deep Space Nine

eagle123: Okay, let's get down to the point here. This is not a religious chat area. This is a gaming site. While I find that posts in here can sometimes be amusing, what needs to be understood is that there are other forums available for these sort opf subjects. This is meant to discuss gaming.

This isn't your average gaming forum, either. We don't strive to become like the IGN forums.

Yeah, none of us except ExecutionerFive want that

The vast majority of threads in the GOG forums are very much to do with the gaming industry. Just because people who share a common interest (gaming) often like to discuss other topics is not a bad thing, in my opinion.
After all, just participate in the gaming threads if that's your only focus, no?
Welcome to the site.

Its a compelling hypothesis but I'll need more evidence before I am convinced.
That or bribes
heh :) I like the lint one most... always with me...
and Eagle123...the last post before you was 4 days ago, the whole topic Started the 7th, it is the 15th now, there has been 8 new posts after you brought it back to the front page, not saying to complain is wrong or anything. Just the timing... I could go back to posts from early 09 to complain about a topic but what would the point be?

There might be a bacon cheeseburger or two in it for you. I might even throw in a drink and some french fries. I promise no purple Kool-aid.
I'm really on the fence about the whole God thing, because I consider myself a weak agnostic. I guess God could exist, but maybe he was behind the whole Big Bang and evolution stuff because he doesn't want to be seen as a deity (hah that didn't work apparently). I dunno. Whatever.

Unless you actually believe in a deity or deities you're atheist. Essentially, anyone who isn't a theist is atheist. There is no fence. It's binary. Both atheists and theists can be agnostic (as it's a philosophical stance on religion, rather than a religious belief, or lack of), but all agnostics are one or the other.
So unless you develop an actual belief there is a god behind it all somewhere then a weak atheist you remain. For instance; I accept that there could be something godlike out there somewhere (but not omnipotent) which puts me in the same category.
However, when it comes to a god that's behind it all, I'm left with the question 'what's the point?'. Through scientific endeavour we've effectively stripped this god of responsibility for all but 'giving things a bit of a nudge to get them started'. Which just seems like a desperate attempt to hold on to the idea that there is a god somewhere. Especially when we don't exactly need an omniscient, omnipotent deity watching over us to achieve that nudge.

And especially not to judge us if we need to nudge ourselves occasionally, sometimes a guy gets lonely...

Hey, if God didn't have to spend so much time converting those fucks then he'd have more time stop natural disasters. Atheists: responsible for taking up The Lord's good goddamn time.
