DaCostaBR: I thought he only went crazy at the end. The air conditioner repairman and the explosion are just part of that world. One is just someone rebelling against bureaucracy, and it's part of the joke that he's played kinda like a superhero and he's so hunted by the government when in the end he's doing something as banal as fixing air conditioners, he just does it outside the system. And the explosion, I think other terrorist attacks were mentioned in the movie before, and when it happens on screen we see how commonplace it has become by the way people don't even react to it.
He's crazy at the end for sure. But you can't exactly say when it started (at least I can't and I watched the movie several times). In my oppinion the repairman is for real and part of the world, but the restaurant scene takes place after he lost his mind (even if the terrorists and the attack might be for real).

Than you for the trailer!
I didn't know anything about a new Terry Gilliam's movie, and this one looks just like what I loved in Brazil.

I think I'm gonna watch Brazil and Twelve Monkeys one more time in the days to come (too long since last time, I shouldn't delay too much or I'll turn sane)...

El_Caz: To this day, Brazil is like a trauma to me. The one film I couldn't understand jack shit.
Don't ever watch Naked Lunch.
When I was in the army, people brought their favorite videos (movies) for people to watch. I brought two:

1. The Abyss

Overall others seemed to like it, but they disliked it for being too "Disney" due to the ending. Maybe so.

2. Brazil

There were first a few people watching it, but most apparently found it too weird and went away from the TV. One guy watched it to the end, and said "Damn, that was far too artsy-fartsy.".

I guess I should have brought some Schwarzenegger movies instead.

Oh right and I remember when I watched Brazil with three of my friends, one of them kept talking about unrelated things during the movie, and then sometimes complain "God, I don't understand anything about this movie!". I said back quite annoyed: "Well then, maybe you should shut up and actually try to watch the movie?".

Ps. I didn't like 12 Monkeys that much. Maybe I was expecting too much due to Brazil, and somehow Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt... heck even Madeleine Stowe, annoyed me a bit in that movie. Not sure why.
