That was a good read, thanks. I'm actually suprised the publisher interfering actually managed to make the first game better for once.

Good read. One of the best PC games ever made.
Interesting, as Ralackk points out, that the publishers hand may of actually benefited the game. On the other hand it almost got canned because they (or spectrum holobyte) still didn't get it.

Good article. I agree with the others that it's interesting the whole strategy layer only appeared at Microprose's urging.
