Hello all you Gamers out there!

Today I stumbled upon another freeware Adventure Game called: The White Chamber apparently its a Science Fiction Horror point and Click adventure.

Here's the site to download it:

Here's a site for a review:

I haven't had a chance to play it! But i thought I'd share this discovery with all of you, hopefully this weekend I'll have a chance to play it.
I've downloaded this at least three times over the years.. and never got around to playing it.
I'm curious to hear from people who've actually played it.
It looks pretty cool plus being freeware makes me want to play it even more.
Yeah if anyone has played it can give some feed back without spoilers that would be great.
The White Chamber is surprisingly good, not so much because it's free, but because it has a very specific comic/anime/AlienmeetsSilentHill style.

It has multiple endings, some good puzzles and at times it's quite oppressive.

What he said. Puzzles are nice but not frustrating, atmosphere and style are great. It's pretty short (If it takes you 2 hours to get through it, you've taken your sweet time) but the multiple endings add some replay value, and you're unlikely to get the best ending on your first try unless you use a guide or something.

Yep, this is a decent point/click adventure, very good atmosphere and interesting storyline from what I remember (been a few years). The multiple endings are fun to fathom out.

If you like The Grey Tower audio drama (which was a nice addition to the mythos of the setting) I recommend listening to Crescent for more in a similar vein.
Looks horrifically depressing! I might give this a try next week when I have the time. Thanks for the recommendation!

This made me laugh Thanks.
Worth noting that the team behind the white chamber and thegreytower broke up. I was briefly involved with them in writing a sort of eBook, but due to real-life issues had to bail out. Shortly thereafter, their last project, For The Game, was stopped. I can't help but feel I was responsible in part for their demise.

If I can get this game development thing worked out, I do have the contact info of Richard Perrin so I may be able to pick up the rights, writers and artists and make something come of that beautifully dark universe they created.

because of this "Looks horrifically depressing!" that and saying the post out loud just sounds awesome.
Hehe I was looking for a good horror adventure game ever since I exhausted most of them. This totally sounds right up my alley.

Having said that, have you tried Downfall? The level of depression seems to be about the same as The White Chamber.

no do you have a link? just tried Wikipedia couldn't find it, the last horror game I played and enjoyed was The Suffering so I'm actually looking forward to trying The White Chamber out.

You can purchase it on or through [url=http://www.wadjeteyegames.com/recommended.html?1251161776]Wadjeteye Games. I can't find the author's website anymore though, but last I heard, he was developing another game similar to Downfall.
Tried it last night, and loved it. Considering it's free it's left a better impression on me than some big budget games, and that despite being so short. I did think while playing it how well it might work if recreated in the Amnesia: The Dark Descent engine, though of course it would be quite a different game then.
