For some, it is. I've seen similar things being talked about. I haven't seen nor really looked for information that validated it, though.
And your son probably shouldn't be playing a game with gratuitous violence or be watching someone play them either.
If it does cause harm, then I would agree. And, to be honest, I can't tell one way or the other so I decided a while back to keep my playing to a minimum while he's awake. When he's older, we'll talk about these things. I think you and I would agree that what we see have varying degrees of impact. You can see a nudie and have no reaction. And you can watch Sonic jump on a robot and release a bird without any significant harm. But you can also watch Braveheart and get pissed at imaginary historical figures. Or watch Two Girls and a Cup and wish you had been born blind.
It's important for a consumer to figure out what they can take and what they can't. I know that I can take less than many of my peers say they can take.
so, you are suggesting censoring art.
I'm not against censorship. If a girl meets me for dinner and she's topless, I'm going to ask her to put a top on. If she doesn't, I'm not going to dinner with her.
Same here. If Witcher had a full game without the sexual content, I'd look into getting it. I played the first half hour or so and the violence didn't affect me negatively as best as I could tell.
I should note that I'm against forced censorship. If an agency of some great power told CD Project that they could not under any circumstance put a boob in their game, then I'd think that was a little much. I don't want to see it. But I like my freedom to choose and I'd prefer if others maintain theirs, too.
And reductio ad absurdum
I don't think so. I was illustrating that The Witcher having nudity only affected my desire to purchase it. I'm not saying that it shouldn't or can't exist. The massive afronts to humanity's sexual existence that I mentioned are the things that I think have absolutely no place in the world and should be removed.
Once again, I think that everyone would agree with me that there are degrees of sexual crudeness and that at some degree of crudeness, it shouldn't exist. Everyone just has a different degree they stand on. Mine is probably a little cooler than yours, and I can respect that. Everyone has their limits.
I hope that helped explain me a little better.
