Of course, on GOG would be best of all right? But I've been waiting a long time for that and don't have forever. So if Steam has it for less than Gamersgate would you still get it from Gamersgate?

I don't care where I buy it from, tbh, I only care to download it and to get it working how I want. Obviously its easier with GamersGate's downloaders / installers because you have more control over them.

Also, it depends on the DRM. But both can be easily cracked and ripped (Steamworks games are somewhat painful, but there is a solution for that too).

Oh, and if I have to choose, I'd choose GamersGate.
I like gamersgate, and their blue coin system. So for me, i'd choose GG.

Their support is supposed to be pretty good too, but I've never needed to use it...

I wonder if they'll ever release Thief II on some digital distribution site. Well I'm sure if gog gets it (which they will) then gog will also release Thief II. Btw, I plan on buying Thief 1 on GG, though I haven't had any experience with them. However if it is released on gog anytime soon im gunna buy it.
just remember its only a distribution platform... unless you have experience playing older games on new OS's you'll run into a lot of trouble getting it running.

for some incite you'll be using a hex editor to get it working at 100% if that doesn't worry you then go for it and get it from GG where the modifications your going to do to get it working have a better chance of success.
The best option would be Gamersgate at the moment. Game would not be tied to a Steam account, and they refund part of the cost with the blue coins system. Unless it is cheaper at Steam, of course. And then you can just run it from Steam even if you bought it from GG if you add it as a shortcut, gaining Steam Overlay functionality.
