Hello,

I tried to install my old version of TA on Windows 7 64 bits, but it couldn't work, even when I changed the compatibility mode to XP or 98. I would like to buy the Commander Pack from GOG, because of the small price and the included extensions, but does this version natively work on Win7 64 bits ? And if not, is there a way to make it work ? Thanks in advance !

I don't know what problems you've had with the retail version in Win7 (I have played the retail version only in Win2000 or XP), but at least the GOG version runs fine for me in Win7/64bit.

Normal precautions as with all GOG games, ie. don't install it under Program Files directories, but somewhere else like C:/Games/ or whatever because Win7 is sometimes over-protective over anything installed in e.g. Program Files. I don't know if it matters in this case.

I bought the GOG version anyway, and as you said it has no problem and works perfectly on Windows 7 64 bits. BTW I let it install with the default settings, then it's in the Program Files folder. It doesn't seem to be a problem now, but I'll remember your advice for the future timppu, thanks !

Installing a game in Program Files can corrupt your saved games? Oookay, don't think I've heard that one before. :)

Must be thinking of something else. I'm not sober now. so it doesn't matter.

You must be thinking about the Virtual Store directory, location where files created and modified in PF, without required permissions, get moved.
