Hello,

I have purchased lots of GOG games and noticed they frequently have avatars as extra content. However, I don't know how to use them. It's probably quite simple but I just don't know what to do. Can anybody help?

Should I mention specific games or is it all pretty much the same?

TIA,
kk

When you choose your avatar, there should be an option to upload it from your computer. Choose the file you downloaded in the avatar pack and you're set.

When you have an image you'd like to use as an avatar (can really be anything, but some GOG games come with ready made avatars for that specific game), click on "My Account" on the top toolbar on any GOG page.

Then, near the left you should see your username and your current avatar to the left of it. To change the avatar, hover your mouse over the avatar, then move it slightly above to where it says "Change picture" then click. You can then find and upload your preferred avatar.
The avatars are meant for internet forums and messaging programs that support avatars. The games that come with the avatar packs rarely support 'em (as character avatars inside the game), though you could use 'em in (eg.) Fallout Tactics by turning 'em into 75x100 greyscale bitmaps (if I recall correctly) and using the game's editor to turn 'em into avatar files. If you want to use custom avatars inside games that have avatars, it's usually best to google for it ("*game name* using custom avatars" or somesuch) since it's game dependent.
I thought the avatars were for use with whatever game they came with, not for forums and such. Stupid me. Oh, well....

Thanks for all your responses.
