With the release of Eador: Genesis, my interest for fantasy/RPG/4x/TBS kind of games has been rekindled so may I ask what are your thoughts on the following:

Fallen Enchantress (have the game since beta but havent delved deep into it)

and

King's Bounty: Warriors of the North (Planning to get this one but I am unsure)

Thoughts on both games and if they are worth my time? I really want to try KB series and I had the previous ones before warriors of the north but was curious if its really worth my time (have to prioritise what to play due to busy schedule)

Not played this one, but from what I've heard, this is basically more of the same. If you own but have not finished previous King's Bounty games, play them first. If you feel the need for more KB, then go for Warriors of the North.

From what I have hear they say it is "more of the same" some said its great for its type of game it fails to really innovate and bring new things on the table and the devs are playing safe. I kind of want to get into king's bounty but the time I tried it I guess I must have been pretty burned out of the genre since I think I bought it the time I played a lot of HoMM3.

My question, if its more of the same, then is the KB series really worth spending some time on?

The games in the KB series are all quite lengthy and rather repetitive, but it stands on a solid foundation. The tactical combat is well thought out, and you do have a good amount of choices when it comes to designing your army. On top of that, the character customization, while simple, is also fun and rewarding.
I think that the KB series would have been better if the games were a bit shorter, but they are worth playing if you enjoy that type of games.

That depends if you like King's Bounty, if yes, then yes. Only way to find out is trying one of them.

Personally I love both The Legend and Armoured Princess, and will be getting this one soon too, while fairly repetitive I really like their quirky story and i'm a sucker for turnbased combat.

Can't say much about Fallen Enchantress, but King's Bounty is one of my favorite games.

If you haven't start with Legend and go chronologically. Each game doesn't do anything new, it more holds on to "don't fix if it ain't broke".
The combat and world are interesting, the writing is funny and doesn't take itself very seriously which is really refreshing considering most games today are grimdark.

I have Fallen Enchantress, but I haven't really gotten to far into it yet. I have started a couple different games of it but I haven't finished any of them. I have enjoyed playing it, but it hasn't quite hooked me like some other TBS games have, so I'm yet to decide how I really feel about it.

I haven't played any of the Kings Bounty games so no comment on them.

I haven't played any of those games(But I'm hoping to get some cash to buy Eador before the sale ends) but I can safely recommend you King of Dragon Pass. It's not 4x, but you'll love it.

I had King of DP for quite awhile and it looks pretty interesting. However I have a problem getting into it. I mean I am confused about the magic and allocation and all that. The lore is pretty interesting though and I might revisit it again.

As for Fallen Enchantress, I must say that I think I am a decent civ player and I could hold my ground against Civ V Prince AI but fallen enchantress normal AI pretty much beats the crap out of me! My problem with 4x games in general is that it gets tedious mid to late game compared to games such as eador and HoMM that though it may get tedious the AI could still kill you late game.

KB warriors of the north really really looks pretty interesting and I mean I really wanted to try it despite the repetition but I think I kind of have OCD and I don't want to lose some troops. I also have trouble calculating losses and troop damages on games like KB and HoMM because of the troop stacking compared to Fallen Enchantress and Eador's HP bars

I am really confused on which to focus on right now and I got tons of TBS/4x/RPG on my backlog:

Any game along this vein/genre anyone could suggest other than MoM/AoW ?

What's there to be confused about? If you allocate magic to war, then your raiding and defending from raids will be more successful. If you allocate to children, more children will be born in your clan, if in health, less people will get sick/injured and they'll recover faster too. I say jump right into it, you won't regret it :)

Will try it now. I just stopped playing a hectic game on a tiny shard on eador just to stretch my legs.

Edit: I don't know what I am doing. The game is a bit confusing at first but I guess I could mess around with it tomorrow. I will re start the game since I remember there was some lore and some choices with the gods or something
