Honestly, the Ishar games are among the worst of their type (that is, Dungeon Master and its ilk). The graphics are all they've got going for them, because the gameplay is awkward, extremely limited and poorly conceived. It's certainly got nothing on Eye of the Beholder, Dungeon Master or Lands of Lore, and among first person RPGs on GoG the Might and Magic series absolutely mops the floor with Ishar, as does Realms of Arkania. Yes, the package is four games, but none of them are actually worth playing unless you've got an excessive amount of free time and have already gone through the classic CRPGs that made the genre so much fun in the first place.
I really don't mean to sound too negative here, I do appreciate that this is a good deal for people who may enjoy the series... I'm just not entirely sure who that would be. Personally, I like the sale because I wanted Robinson's Requiem (which I've heard other people have similar issues with, but at least it seems like a unique concept) but was never fully committed to getting it, and for three dollars I might as well satiate my curiosity.
I'm trying to think of a nice way to put this without sounding negative . I can't though so I'll just say it. Damn those games are super fugly. Not that I'm all about the graphics, but along with peoples mixed views on the gameplay, I don't find the deal very enticing.
awww now I feel like an ungrateful jerk (buys commandos to compensate)

Actually I'd say the Ishar games are among the prettiest in their sub-genre. It's about the only nice thing I'd say about 'em, but there it is.
You spoil us greatly.
I don't think I am ever gonna play them...yet I still bought them. What is wrong with me?

Nothing, I do the same :D
This was the best excuse to buy me the Ishar games. Thank you once again for a great promo, GOG!
I'm going to sound like an idiot, but since these are DOS games, do I need DOSbox or are these Vista compatible? I am an idiot with DOS...

Rohan15: do I need DOSbox or are these Vista compatible?

Ummm... Both, I guess. These are Vista compatible because they use Dosbox.

They use DOSBox, but it's included and all set up already. Just run the installer and you're all set.
This goes for pretty much all DOS games on GoG, by the way. :)

So...I just install the game like I would with any other GOG game and it runs perfectly?

You got it. Just don't delete the shortcut it creates (though you can move it if you want) and it'll work perfectly. You can still adjust settings in the .conf file in the game's directory if you want to, but you don't need to. It's all perfectly functional out of the box, so to speak.

Remember that if you don't already have Robinson's Requiem collection, you need to buy it as well to get the discount.
