Licurg: Thanks for that. I already have the base game, so only need the DLCs .
Me too .

Nirth: I've been curious to get Sword of the Stars but unfortunately I'm no fan of roguelikes and even less so nowadays, I don't have the patience for them. Is it worth it or is it a typical roguelike?
It feels unfair sometimes. Especially if you enter a new level! You'll always find yourself surrounded by three or four baddies when you enter a new level and you can't do shit about it. That's what got me killed on, uhm... let's say two thirds of my attempts :/ It's a good game but you'll die very very often. And since the first 20 floors are pretty "easy", it's getting a bit tedious after some time.
picked up the shadowrun DLC, hoping to see the Linux download for it soon on GOG...
Shadowrun: Dragonfall is amazing. Had it on Steam for quiet some time now and spent over 80 hours playing it, the base game and UGC. It's not the deepest RPG out there but DLC is well written. Combat is basically XCOM lite. Companions are interesting. Every run has it's own unique thing with some rather agonizing choice and consequences. Main story has it's own twists and turns. And if you love cyberpunk, there isn't really much else in the same vein to play. Not until CDP Red gives us Cyberpunk 2077.

This game got me interested into Shadowrun Universe.

The demo will probably answer your question. I decided quite quickly that it wasn't for me. To me, the randomness was more prominent than the setting, and so I never felt involved in the game.

Just to ground my roguelike judgment a bit:
I really enjoy NetHack.
I really enjoy TOME4, and the dev is insanely dedicated.
Dungeons of Dredmor is neatly done, though I grow tired after two levels. If the art, room design, and skill set in SOTS were on par with Dredmor, I might have picked it up, too.
Transcendence is strangely lonely and excellent.
Thought I had all these (in one location or another)...realize I don't have Doomsdark's Revenge so I just grabbed it...(to complete my backlog..hehe)

edit - fixed typo

TrevorWilliams: I'm the type that loves RPGs and can get lost in one for months at a time, but then not play one for years; but continue to buy them so that my RPG backlog is now about 80 years long, if not longer.
Don't feel so bad. I am in the same boat for the most part. Own all but Shadowrun: Dragonfall and Doomdark's Revenge, and only finished 3 (Geneforge 1 (with lots and lots of help), Anodyne, & Evoland) and am I estimate about 60 - 75/80 % of the way through UnEpic.

.... Yeah, not going to have this entire list completed anytime soon (if ever)....
Inquisitor is currently 0,89€ on Steam, so GOG's offer doesn't look that tempting (not that I care, as I already own the game here on GOG, but I thought it was worth mentioning for potential buyers).

To be fair, Steam is offering discount on Standard Edition, while the one here is Deluxe Edition. Bundle Stars has the best offer with Inquisitor Deluxe Edition, Tropico Trilogy, Hard Reset and a few other titles for $2.99.

IAmSinistar: I already have most of these, but if anyone is thinking about Legend of Grimrock and doesn't have it, do get it. A wonderful RPG, and the first one in ages to make a single piece of leather armor feel like precious loot.
Gah my resistance, she weakens!
Is it bad that I seriously considered spending $1 during the summer sale to get the Sword of the Stars Gold Edition just for the convenience of not having to install multiple separate installers?

I never ended up biting, but I was seriously tempted.

I'll bite, done! :)

That doesn't happen as often as you make it sound. And even if it happens I usually kick their butt or escape pretty easily since I have made it a habit to use Invisibility before going down stairs.
Dragonfall just in time for the weekend. Thanks, GOG!

Assuming we're talking about the GOG version, it doesn't make any difference. Whether you buy it Gold or separately, the result is the same; 3 separate installers.
