Faithful: Thank you for the sound advice.

Navagon: Also worth noting is that Overseer is a retelling of the first game anyway. So that's another reason to avoid the first two.

Yeah, the first two are kind of not as good. Isn't one of them a race car game or something? Been a long, long time. I remember one of them had terrible action sequences.
The other 3 are really amazing though. Never played anything like them. Great story, fun puzzles, memomrable characters, good FMV work, hint system in case you start scratching your head. I'm playing through UAKM again thanks to GOG. That's what brought me here.
Gah. Was waiting for that, but there's no way I can afford anything at all currently. Oh well ... some day, for full price :/.

Honestly, I haven't played the first two. I'm basing that on the synopsis and user reviews. The first two seem much more disjointed though.
That said, I'm enjoying Overseer. Enough to go right ahead and buy UAKM & TPD at least.
Bought PD to check out what the games are like.
EDIT: OK, played for a bit and must say a rather fun and different style game. I think I will play a bit more and choose if I should get the other 2. Having fun thus far! :o)

Ok, I've never played any of these games so I guess I will just pick UAKM and see what's all the fuzz about.
The first two are interesting games, both from a historical point of view and because they deliver an unusual mix of genres. But while it is possible to have fun with them, they have aged quite badly and were never really classics (unlike the UAKM-style games).
So there's a reason the first two basically cost two dollars each. Don't hesitate to buy if you have the money and feel curious, but don't expect to get any long term entertainment from them. You might, but it's not very likely.
The best introduction to the series is to skip MM&MS and buy UAKM instead. It's a fantastic game which every serious PC-gamer should experience.

Never surrender ! I've learned my dose of English mainly because of games.
Well, that and song lyrics, movies, books, the Internet... Try to do as much of these things in English and soon you'll be amazed by the results. Just don't give up.
Huh... I might even soon start a thread on this issue, if there isn't one already.
Thank you Gog for a great deal on these games!!I'm almost done with UaKM and now i can grab Pandora Directive for an awesome price(got the Overseer DVD version from a thrift store a couple years back).I always wanted to play these games so bad and now i've finally been able to, and they're as great as i'd imagined.
Another bunch of games adquired :D
Keep up the promos!
