No idea whther one should give much attention to this. Rumor of a Piledriver based FX9000 with an insane 220W TDP.

If there is any truth in this, that "thing" would be a limited edition for enthusiasts ( unless it is intended as a testbed for cpu coolers, that is ).
Seems like a great idea, because a higher TDP is exactly what AMD CPUs needed to better compete with Intel.

Sure it's the way to go. While they're at it, they probably should consider reverting to 65 or even 90 Nm technology, just to maximise their advantage /sarc

Probably a PR trick anyway to keep some tiny percentage of the audience occupied while Intel launches Haswell.
