Rodor: Most of GG games have Steam-shit.
Plus to it, when you want to download and install a game, you download the little GG download file for this game. Clicking on this file starts the download+installation process, after it GG proposes to delete the installation files. But even if you choose to keep installation files on your HD, they have a Steam-like form and you can't simply install the game later - you must login into your GG account anyway.
These two points are major minuses of GG for me. So I bought about 8-10 games there while ago but now I don't use GG anymore.
Partly correct. If you let GamersGate keep the files for later, it disables the executable file by turning it into a launch file (which is completely useless) and turns it back into an executable file only when you use the downloader. You can, however, prevent that by copying the temporary files after beginning the installation, but before you finish it. That way, you can have a stand-alone installer.
Niggles: Better do ur research. Unless i got it wrong their Steam filter says 1294, DRM free 2385. And thats not counting all the games with Other DRM etc....
I'm pretty sure that when people say that GamersGate is a Steam Key reseller, they mean that they sell Steam keys of games that are DRM-Free on other sites. Like Alan Wake, Hotline Miami and Shadow Warrior (2013), which are DRM-Free on GOG and Humble, but only Steamworks on GamersGate.
