Regarding Tropes vs. Women, there's an interesting comment in an article about Tropes vs. Men (I didn't even know that existed):

"As a backer who has gotten updates all year on Anita's project I'd like to point out two things I find pretty cool: not only is Anita going to discuss *positive* depictions of female characters in one of her videos, she has also stated that she will be doing a video on negative or potentially harmful depictions of male characters. Sexism hurts both men and women, and like most feminists Anita knows and cares about gender related bigotry against both men and women."

I'll be looking forward to these.

(And thanks to "Eero Salonen Tormented Cast Off" from the Torment comments page for the link to the article.)

We'll see about that. Given her past history, I'd be very skeptical if she takes it seriously, considering how much effort she's gone into to avoid fairness previously.

But, I'll watch with as open a mind as I can muster. I'd love to be proven wrong. Though her track record and that of American Feminists of late suggest that it will likely be a half hearted attempt centered primarily around keeping the base happy.

AstralWanderer: Dice connoisseurs take heed! Artisan Dice (who had a previous very successful d6 KS) now have a second, offering polyhedral dice in a variety of woods and metals:

Artisan Dice Does Handcrafted Polyhedrals (May 1)
That's a great project but the dice are very expensive, especially if you have to pick a set just to have one specific dice. I wonder if the handcrafted approach justifies the price.

I agree, the price brings tears to my eyes. :( Another thing is the legibility of numbers on some of the more patterned woods - I think they need to offer inking in a contrasting colour to make some of those dice more usable. I sold my soul (or what passes for one) to the Foam Brain metal dice KS though, so I won't be participating in this one.

Those interested in six-sided dice only may wish to check the Eternity Dice KS which has just over one day to run. They have 20 different stones, five face designs, a choice of rounded or sharp corners and (with most stones) the choice of painted or unpainted markings.
Too many kickstarters. Too many bundles. Not enough money. Argh :)

How is this not more popular!? It has good rewards and the game itself looks brilliant. Kikctraq says it'll do good though but I'm not sure...

$12K and nearly 500 backers in a day and you think it's not popular? I've seen games which I thought were a lot better, more complex, with better graphics, which had much lower goals.
We just entered the last 12 hours for the 99 Spirits IndieGoGo campaign.

Its currently at 158%.

Don't miss this last chance if you want to grab the game at a reduced price or one of the many goods on the higher tiers.

Just seemed far away from the goal at the time...though it's growing fast it was roughly 1/2 that last time I seen it. It's personal whether it's good or not, for people who love retro-style platformers, it's absolute gold.
