Leroux: I heard that, too, but what about Deponia then?

SirPrimalform: I didn't know that was considered an episodic game, I thought it was a series in the old fashioned sense?
I haven't played it myself yet, but I think I've seen it mentioned as episodic, maybe even by Daedalic themselves, but I might be mistaken. In any case from what I've read, the main story is not concluded with the first game and it was planned as a trilogy, and the second game was released in the same year as the first. But then again, maybe be it's just as episodic as the Blackwell series where each game also tells a self-contained story, dunno. And e.g. Syberia isn't considered episodic either, although the story is cut in half.

Who knows, could be GOG's reason for not taking episodic games is that they want to make sure the series will eventually get a conclusion, and that they trust an established company like Daedalic more with that than some indie newcomers.

I think Deponia get's a pass because there basically full length games with a episodic story(one large story told in smaller chunks) sorta like Lord of the rings or Star Wars while the games Telltale and Cognition are more of the line of a full game broken among smaller installments
"Gabriel Knight feel of the game" - alright, I guess I could kinda of get behind this. But maybe the best solution is to wait until all the episodes are released, then sell it as a bundle.
It seems like selling the first episode cheap is a marketing gimmick to get people to buy the rest of the episodes as they are released at full price.

Again, why is it that all of a sudden GOG has to have each and every last indie game out there on the market?

That sounds like a plausible course of action for GOG to take (provided they're willing to sell the game in the first place). I'd be more than happy to buy the whole bundle.
well you could always vote for the cognition wishlist which I'd link to but I don't have permission yet :P

moreover, you could also vote for their greenlight, yes I know its steam, but I'm guessing they (as every other indie studio) could use the money
Vote for Cognition in the Whislist!

yep, that was the link I wanted to post, thank you :P

I still say we should vote for their greenlight as well. As I said before, indie studios need all the help they can get

Steam Greenlight asks you "Would you buy this game if it were available in Steam?" in the case you want to vote for it. I wish Phoenix well but I won't lie for their sake.

You don't have to lie! The correct answer is:
"Yes, I would buy this game if it were available in Steam, but I would buy it somewhere else than Steam" : )
I only buy episodic games after all episodes have been released, got burned with Sin after only one episode, but at least that had a free patched copy of the original game.
Cognition looks interesting though, it is a game I will probably buy at some point.
