Change of ownership? My CD says Jowood. Jowood is no more and Arkane is now listed as the publisher. Arkane is owned by Zenimax who has no other games here. Perhaps Arx Fatalis is only here because it's always been here.

Because Arkane themselves own Arx as the rights reverted to them when Jowood folded. Zenimax may own Arkane, but Arkane can still have stuff of their own that Zenimax doesn't control.

I swore I saw it for $4.99 earlier today. Mentally told my self to keep that in mind as I was budgeting out my wants, my needs and my maybes earlier today. There's a chance I'm mistaken as it was hours ago but pretty sure it was $4.99 at one point.

That depends on where you saw the price. When the sale started everything was discounted in the shopping cart by mistake. So it was possible to pick up those titles not in the sale for 50% off. As well as some of the titles that were meant to be 33% at 50% off instead. As far as I know that error has now been fixed.

Dangit, here's hoping GOG can use that to squeeeezzeeee into Zenimax's line of sight, and bring some great classics here. Isn't iD owned by Zenimax?
