Link looks much, much better and less goofy than the first one. Paralax is the big bad.

I agree, much better than the previous trailer, but I am still concerned about the CGI on Ryan Reynolds. It looks awesome on just about everything else (ie: Kilowag, Sinestro, Tomar-Re Parallax), but it just seems kind of weird on him. It is especially bad in some of the close-ups. You can see his neck doesn't really match his head movements.

I'm more concerned with the use of Paralax so soon in Hal Jordan's story. Dodgy CGI I can forgive. Galactus in Rise of the Silver Surfer I can't. At Wondercon the director actually hinted Attrocious would be the big bad in Green Lantern 2. So that leaves what? Blackest Night as Green Lantern 3?

True, that is also a concern of mine as well. I am not sure where they will go from hear either. I mean there is so much content to play with, and they are taking some liberties with the source material anyway. I haven't read the interview that hinted at Attrocious being the baddie of the second. I assume Parallax was chosen for the first film because they may use that as a basis to turn Sinestro, as opposed to having it happen naturally. I heard awhile back that Star Sapphire might end up being a villain in the second or third movie as well, so who knows.

I doubt they would run the Blackest Night story as there is too many other characters that they can't./won't bring in, and that would be better suited to a mini-series, or a new set of DC Animated movies (something like the Superman/Batman series).
Wasn't it the last Green Lantern trailer that looked like a remake of Dude Where's My Car?

It was on the Wondercon panel. Campbell said Attrocious is not in this movie *wink*. As for Star Sapphire, Blake Lively who plays Carol Ferris is keen on the role but needs a less revealing costume.

Edit: Just found out Amanda Waller is in this movie played by Angela Bassett. So thats more evidence we are moving to Blackest Night as she was a Justice League thing.

Lol, I hear that on the costume. I am also kinda curious on other potential cameos. I really want the folks at DC to start alluding to other things in their franchise a little better. I mean, I would love to see a Guy Gardner cameo, or maybe a John Stewart.

But it's the same film? Or did they pull it and remake it at the last minute when they realised it's too dumb even by summer blockbuster standards?

Official line is there is very little comedy in the movie and the trailer was poorly put together becauce the CGI wasn't ready.

Gardner is a wanker, always has been. I would give a hell yeah to Stewart or Rayner though.

Well, to be fair, there was very little comedy in the first trailer too.

Yeah, He was kind of a wanker, but still, he was the other candidate for the ring. If I remember correctly, the ring passed up Clark Kent due to him not being a native of Earth, and ended up choosing Jordan over Gardner, but from the trailers thus far, it looks like they may bypass the choosing process entirely.

Kinda? Look over his stories. Absolute wanker. He was a candidate for the ring but John Stewart got it simply because of his awesome. Watch the Justice League cartoon. Kyle Rayner was the best user of the ring simply because he was an artist.

I have been holding of on the DCU Animated Series til this summer. My boys really enjoy them, and I usually get the kids for a couple weeks in a row during the summer, so we usually pick shows to watch at night and in the mornings.

But I agree, I liked Rayner quite a bit in the comics. But Jordan was always my favorite GL of Earth.
