As the title suggests, this isn't for GOG releases. We've got a chart of those already. Which seems to be in order of the most unrealistic first. But that's another debate for another day.

What brand spanking new games are you looking forward to getting your mitts on in the next year or so?

For me:
Mafia 2:I thought I had gone off GTA style games. As I hadn't enjoyed any since the original Mafia. But this sequel has certainly reignited my interest. In this franchise at least.
Rage: It's an id game that's actually developed by id. Shocking, indeed. Surely worthy of purchase just for the novelty value. The Mad Max style setting of this racing/fps hybrid just clinches the deal.
Alpha Protocol: Sam Fisher meets J C Denton in this RPG spy em up by Obsidian.
Fallout New Vegas: Another Obsidian bundle of joy. We know bugger all about it aside from the fact that it's a Fallout game by the (mostly) original Fallout team. That's enough for me.
Borderlands: I liked the look of this FPS/RPG hybrid before it got its makeover. Now it's looking like a very strong contender for stocking fodder.
Deathspank: Thanks to Aliasalpha for pointing out this RPG Adventure by Ron Gilbert.

My interest in Blizzard's upcoming (non-WOW) games comes and goes. But I've got to admit, they're looking pretty damn good right now. The modding on Starcraft is pretty difficult to rival. Especially given the community that game is going to have.
Mass Effect 2 depends on the DRM, for me. Bioware are avoiding it in their other upcoming release, so that's a very good sign.

ZamFear: Mini Ninjas and STALKER: Call of Pripyat.

I really hope they don't kill Call of Pripyat like they did with Clear Sky. That was probably my biggest disappointment last year. And 2008 was a disappointing year for PC gaming. If they can make it at least 95% finished before released and don't kill it with DRM then they'll regain my interest.

Risen, Divinity 2 and Dragon Age:Origins (maybe) mostly.
Scribblenauts
Mass Effect 2
Scribblenauts
Starcraft II
Scribblenauts
MechWarrior (reboot)
Scribblenauts
Age of Decadence
Subversion ( by the makers of Uplink and Darwinia)
Avernum 6, just so I can see what Jeff Vogel comes up with since that series will be concluded with that game.
Eschalon Book II.
The Black Hound by JE Sawyer...
The unnamed Zombie RPG by Doublebear.
Risen
Divine DIvinity 2(tentatively as it looks way too much like Gothic 3)
Dragon AGe: Origins (tentative...because it has the taint of a console release...)
Fallout: New Vegas because at least Obsidian can't butcher Fallout more than Bethesda.

Whiteblade999: Risen, Divinity 2 and Dragon Age:Origins (maybe) mostly.

Those are all looking good. Risen in particular caught my interest. Although there is every reason to suspect that Dragon Age:Origins will be up to Bioware's usual standard. Divinity 2 is a new one to me, but damn does it sound good.

I think you forgot to mention Scribblenauts.

Oooh, Subversion. I didn't know about that one. I love Darwinia and Multiwinia so I'll be on the look out for it

If the trailer is in any way indicative of what we can expect from the game, then the new Mechwarrior is going to be nothing short of awesome.

Half Life 2: Episode Three
I am playing through the series right now, finished HL, currently playing HL2. The game will bring the conclusion of one great story, must-play in my book.
Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty
We've all been waiting for a new Blizzard game besides WoW, and by looking at its features and Battle.Net 2.0, this is also a must-buy for me.
Diablo 3
Same thing as Starcraft 2. :)

KavazovAngel: Half Life 2: Episode Three

Definitely a must buy. No doubt about it. I've got the Orange Box and I've been a fan of the series since the original was first launched (I even completed it on a P120 which made for some painfully long loading times).
That aside, what's the hope of seeing Ep3 within the next 12 months? I really don't know. Nothing has been shown or announced about it at all. If we use Blizzard as an example: they had lengthy gameplay videos up on their site more than a year before those games are likely to actually be released.
I just hope that Valve pull it out of nowhere and amaze us all.

"Subversion has since exploded into an epic and highly experimental project, and is undoubtedly our most ambitious game to date."
That's it. That's all it took. I'm interested. Subversion looks incredible. It's hard to believe that such a small studio is attempting such sizeable project. The quality of their previous releases coupled with the sheer scope of this one gives me a great deal of hope... for when they finally get it finished.

Fallout: New Vegas
Diablo 3
Starcraft 2
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm
Deathspank
Mass Effect 2
Dragon Age: Origins
Beyond Good and Evil 2 (yes, they've GOT TO continue working on it, quit with the "on hold" already!)
I'll probably try to get most of them as collector's editions, but WoW:C is the only definite one, seeing how I have CE's of the original game and the other expansions as well.
At least I'll have some time to save up cash for them... I need to upgrade my PC to run them comfortably as well (buying a beautiful game only to having to run it at close to the lowest settings due to hardware constraints = epic fail), it's almost bursting at the seams with The Witcher, Fallout 3 and Mass Effect as it is, and even World of Warcraft is way less than smooth (damn that game is random with its requirements).
WoW: Cataclysm
Tropico 3
Fallout 3 GOTY (I finished the original game, but I don't have the DLCs yet)
Fallout: New Vegas
Alpha Protocol
While Dragon Age will probably be a good game, I can't buy it. After the lead writer dismissed on their forum my complaints about the idiot marketing campaign by telling me I'd forget about it when they showed me something shiny, my stance shifted from annoyance and concern to spite.

Special Editions in the UK aren't as special as they claim. So they're less tempting here. Looking at what mainland Europe gets by comparison makes our SEs look paltry. Still, you've got a good list there. They should all prove to be good games, even if what they're packaged with varies dramatically.

Why is it that whenever I hear something good about Bioware something else has to come along and knock my impression of them back down. They can still make good games. But the way they sell them (DRM included) certainly leaves a lot to be desired.
Just out of interest, what marketing campaign are we talking about here?

The New Shit.
The one I complained about was 4 minutes of noncontextualized violence, set to the song "The New Shit". I'm not opposed to violent content in context, but the video showed poor judgment and made me wonder if the game was actually going to indulge in gore in a gratuitous fashion.
