Are the 720p/1080p options not working for anyone else lately? I click on them and nothing changes.

Yeah, I have to switch between fullscreen/window lately for the change to take effect, seems to work most of the time.

Another issue I'm having on YT lately is that comments disappear when I choose to reply or to see the comment they are a reply to. Btw: Newgrounds is also kinda broken lately. Guess the whole internet is falling apart.

For me the effect isn't immediate, but will change most of the time after 5-10 seconds without further manual interference. But I too have noticed the function hasn't been coded flawlessly.
YTD2

It doesn't always work and I'm not sure how one passes those "you need to be loggined"-videos but it beats streaming anytime, at least for me when I like to jump around in a video when buffering isn't too smooth.

You can use the youtube.com/embed/#videohash# to bypass logins and age checks

While we're on the subject of YT problems, here's mine. When I try to stretch a video to full-screen, it bugs out and only occupies the upper-left corner, at around 640x480, on a 1280x800 display. I use Chrome and this happens ONLY for the YT flash player (not HTML5) and ONLY for videos that aren't available in 1080p (these run fine, even in lower quality; also, I think the problem persists with 720p). Anyone had similar experiences?

I've got the same problem as you with the comments.

Thank God. I actually started being worried that it may be the result of a trojan of sorts (I actually accidentally followed a link form a spam mail recently, the YT comments bug started occurring soon after), guess it's just a YT bug after all.

I bypass this problem by pausing videos before changing quality. It works almost every time.

Well I'm glad that I am not the only as well. I also just thought it was me, hopefully they can fix it soon. I noticed if you click the arrow near the comment it will come back.

No, it's us! We're the only ones! They don't understand! We have to stick together and run off to Mexico! In the name of... something.

I like youtube-dl. Written in Python (but has no GUI), so may be an alternative for those who prefer not to use Java (and the Windows binary, though a bit larger than YTD2, is completely self-contained so it doesn't require Python to be installed).

Though, I haven't tried YTD2 (nor met any logged-in-only videos), so I cannot say if either is better than the other.

I agree its the best solution, off we go.

This worked, thanks a bunch!!!

I also have the comments disappearing thing, so now I can't read the insults random internet people throw at each other.
