Which ones do you use? I'm used to NWN1 where you had basic bardsong with increases to to-hit and damage. Then there was curse song, that hit like a train! My bards tend to have decent strength so they can buff up, armour up and then wade into battle as they sing :-)

I'm playing a NWN2 bard in much the same way - using that basic inspiration for to-hit and damage, and then curse song as enemies close in. Is there any point in the others? I'm in the OC at level 9.
Inspire courage is most popular since it boost both damage and AB. Thats pretty much main inspiration for simple melee bard. Feinting bard will like inspire competence(also useful for crafting). If there are two bards in your party(grobnar) second one can sing inspire defence as there are never enough AC

As for songs there are a lot of awesome stuff:
1)At 15 lvl you get Song of heroism(+4Ac +4saves Additionally +4THB for bard level) which can be boosted in epic level(At least 16 bard and at least 21 lvl character) to work on whole party.
2)At level 18 you get Legionnaire's march(get highest allies bab in area and give it to everyone in your party. Also gives +4 damage to everyone)
3)At bard 21 you can get epic song called Song of Requiem. Which can be improved to Hymn of Requiem around 27 character level which are best freaking deats in game. Just look at this marvellous thing

P.S. Also Ironskin chant from lvl 9 is decent for use on main party tank

Curse Song is absolutely amazing, and a must-have feat for any Bard. Inspire Courage is just solid; attack and damage is going to be useful for any non-caster, and this makes it the most generally useful performance for the majority of your career. It's been a while since I've played an adventure through the Bard... really should, because it's such a nice party-buffing package.
Curse song is good if you have at least 12 bard, so for example in BGR(lvl max around 10) its kinda a waste of space. It also has a bit... strange progression

-1 to hit and damage isn't a bad effect. I can understand why you might prioritize other options at low levels, but I wouldn't call it a waste.

I would definitely agree that the progression is pretty arbitrary.

Its not bad thing but make it pretty unappealing feat if you are going to delude bard into something like Brd8/F8/AA10/DC4 or you want be able to achieve high bard level(SoZ most likely ends at 14-15 lvl so if you get RDD4 or BG3 you'll have just 10 lvl bard) xD

Except that, according to the linked wiki article, the reduction to damage only applies to slashing damage. If the enemy is using, say, a mace, all you get from this song at that level is -1 to hit.

I would definitely agree that a feat based on your class level is significantly less valuable if you're doing heavy multiclassing.
Great, thanks! My bard builds start with Bard for skills, then two levels of Fighter at some stage for the feats, then Bard all the way..

Since after Bard22 you get almost nothing useful(bard 21 asap for song of requiem and bard 22 at lvl27 to get 30 perform and Hymn of requiem) with 2F you have 6 more levels to multiclass xD Here is few useful classes

1)Rogue 2 - evasion, which opens up awesome exposed weakness which is useful against MotB boss
2)Cleric1 with darkness(blind fight), water{evasion), war(free weapon focus similar to god), trickery(feint, but it less usefull without sneak),earth(toughness which opens up awesome Steadfast Determination)
3)Frenzy Berserk 2 or 5 - supreme cleave is awesome in OC+Motb and Enhanced Improved Power attack coupled with it can clear u almost anything. But You'll get it late
4)Divine champion 4 - taken at epic levels gives free ability to get epic prowless so it easier to get expose weakness? also +2 to all saves

RDD4 is not that useful here actually

Also don't waste feats on Battle caster - you can craft Mythral chainmail/breastplate in OC and MotB pretty easy. And don't waste feat on Blind fight till 18(assuming you go in motb with same char) - you can get item with blind fight pretty early on in OC. but its removed when you import character to MotB

P.S. Also mythral heavy shield has 0 spell failure chance so It wont interfere with your casting of Heroism, greater
