Is there anyway to get rid of it?
It makes me nauseous very quickly and character generation takes some time for me... and as long as the background is there, i really cannot make a character.

You could lower the resolution while creating characters, but that doesn't eliminate it entirely (just makes it take up less of the screen).

Yeah, that occurred to me but it doesn't help since the background is still visible. If i could run the game in windowed mode, i could probably size it as to avoid seeing the background but i don't think the game supports that.

It is really that bad enough that i have to get rid of it. (Mechwarrior 3 menu background is another example of a moving background that makes me nauseous.)

Is there any online character creator? I could create a character in one and try to re-create the character very fast in the game but this is less than idea "solution" :/

Once you create a character & save him/her to your local vault, there is no need to re-create them.
Just select them from the list of premade characters.

I would also be in favor of an ingame solution such as an addon of some sort to get rid of that spinning background
Just bought the game and was eager to try it out, but the character creation phase is just turning me away from the game :/

Does anyone have a solution to this?

Figured an odd workaround. Not ideal but better than nothing:
Select any campaign, select premade, click customize, cancel and the rotating background vanishes, you can now make a character without the background coming back as long as you don't go back to main menu.

Actual override or something removing the background permanently would be ideal but this is better than nothing.

Here you go. Just took a little to figure out which texture to alter. It's one I've changed before (for my Transparent GUI), just couldn't remember the file name right away.
