I've been lan'ing NwN2 with some friends with no problems when I'm not the server, but when I try to set a server up and have one of them play on it it crashes after a few minutes and I get an error:

I've tried running as admin and then with the client extension, with and without admin rights, and I still get the same problem.

Any ideas what it is or what I can do to narrow it down?

If you had a crash dump, we could take a closer look at this. It seems like the game crashed while trying to snap a screenshot for saving a game (the preview screenshot shown in the load screen).

Could you try disabling autosave?

It crashed before we even got into the game proper, we were in the process of creating our characters. Would the game be autosaving during then?

Also, how would I get a crash dump?

Thanks :D

You can use ProcDump ( http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/dd996900.aspx ), after launching the game client on your machine: procdump -mp -e nwn2main.exe

That will write a dump to the directory you ran ProcDump from, should the NWN2 game client subsequently crash, if memory serves.

Autosave isn't dependent on anyone actually having logged in to the server, IIRC. Did you enable it in server options when hosting the server?
