So I just recently got The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition on GOG.com (the stamps thing) and I've been trying to download it. Unfortunately the GOG Downloader always stops 10~15 minutes with a "Checksum error on part 5" (or some part) notice, and all the files get deleted.
Downloading directly from GOG (not the downloader mode) in my web browser is incredibly unstable (for files above ~35mb) and from what I read in the forums it can cause issues during installation.

So I was just wondering, if I contacted CD Projekt Red, do you think they would issue me a Steam key?

In before people start hating on me/Steam - I am a "steam achievement pig" and I like how Steam downloads my stuff (more stable). And yes; I understand the whole DRM-free arguments, and I do like having DRM-free stuff every bit as much as the next person. I just want to know if it's possible to download a game before next year or having to buy something I already own.

Just throwing that out there, since I hear that CDPR owns/is part off GOG.com.

And while I'm at it;
Does anyone else get the GOG Downloader error? Any way to fix it?
Also, sometimes the Downloader will instantly download the complete game in under 10 seconds - but opening the folder shows that it's empty. Anyone else get this?

TL;DR
1) Would CDPR issue me a Steam key if I already own the GOG.com version if I asked?
2) GOG Downloader problems, any foresee-able fixes for "Checksum error" and/or empty folder downloading?

I don't think they will hand out a Steam key, but who knows? Give it a try, it doesn't hurt.

As for the GOG Downloader, start it and click on Settings. Set "Number of concurrent connections" to 1.
Make sure that there's enough free space at the save location and that it isn't formatted in FAT32 (because of file size limitation).

Guess I'll give it a shot later then.

And I'll change the settings then. See what happens.
As for free space, it isn't a problem, got 1 TB. :)
