Anyone else feel like there was not much change between day and night in Witcher 2. With the exception of maybe Flotsam night didn't feel any different in Henselts camp nor during that summit in chapter 3. I remember in Witcher 1 night having far more of a sinister feel to it and even the ambient lighting in W2 didn't seem to drop much at all throughout the night.
Vergen area kinda spooky in night on Iorveth path in burned village area

Seemed different enough to me.
My biggest peeve with the sky as a whole is that there are no more stars, or storm clouds, or skies at all really. Just...light and dark colors.
I remember in the Flotsam shop stalls were not manned at night or early in the morning, also there seemed like less people on the streets. Then in Lobinden there were fires and more guards at night it seemed. But in Henselts camp there always seemed to be the same people around the same camp fires all day and night with the exception of a few "named" characters and this was really true for Roches camp where only him and Ves ever slept and his solders always seemed to be training no matter when you arrived. And in chapter 3, I played most of the Chapter at night and I only realized it was night when I looked at my "sundial", everyone was awake and active like it was the middle of the day and of course it seemed very bright for the middle of the night... but maybe that was my computer (or the game on my computer) not registering night properly cause night never seemed to be "truly" dark... more like someone just "filtered" the sun for most of it...

I just noticed this cause in Witcher 1 night always seemed more dangerous with different monsters and more of a creepy atmosphere.... I remember in Vizima's Temple Quarter you would never mistake night over day.... It was not so much the lighting, they just felt different.

EDIT: it occurred to me that Witchers are supposed to have enhanced night vision so that's why night never seemed as dark... the developers, maybe, intended it that way?

A more distinct night with stars, more monsters etc. would make a nice DLC. I'd much prefer improvements to exisiting half-baked features over some new features that don't make such a big difference.
A darker nights mod (like was done for Oblivion or FO3) would help.
