I am trying to download the Installer now for several days. That is to say, I have a maximum DL speed of 650KB/s so the download will take about 9 hours.
First, I thought I have run into the 24 hour forced disconnection of my ISP. The download was canceled around 0:30am after 11,3 GB... I was quite sad.
The second time I thought my ISP disconnects me always at 0:30am... I started the download around the same time a before and did not think of anything. But I was a bit disappointed of my Internet connection.
Now (the third time) it again was canceled after 11.3GB. This time at a different time of day.
Pausing or resuming the download also does not work. The GOG Downloader is not yet (?) available for Linux.
Now I want to find out why this happens. I my opinion someone closes the connection after a certain time. It could be my ISP or it could be GOG.
If no one has other suggestions, I ask you (GOG) to split the one large 19GB file into several smaller files. That would help me (and maybe others?) a lot, while I try to validate my suspicion against my ISP. Or: make the linux installer download available by the GOGDownloader, so I can download the game with windows.
Or is there any hope that the GOGDownloader or GOGGalaxy will enable pause and resume for my downloads on Linux soon?
