I originally bought this game off Steam & loved it until the Kayran battle. I had literally battled that thing for over an hour but could not get the qte sequence once I got onto the tentacle. Found out this was a bug. I would really love to try this game again but will not get it unless that bug has been fixed. Does anyone know? thanks......

i have the same problem . after cut the four tentacoles, I start the QTE and sometimes i fullfill the bar, but after a swap I always fall down. and try again and again and but fall down .

No, as far as I know it hasn't been fixed yet, but there are workarounds that might help in case you get hit by it again:

Go to low settings, and play in window mode at a lower resolution. You won't have to keep it at low settings and in window mode after you complete the Kayran, just do it for that fight.

Another option is to not get on the tentacle ride, and just let the 4th tentacle hit you instead, have quen on and make sure you have a full health bar, then you'll just have to destroy the 4th tentacle the same way you did the other 3. After the 4th tentacle is destroyed, you'll have to run up the stone wall that fell, trying to not get hit by the other tentacles.

RED botched this one real bad, i can hardly believe the number of people still having trouble with this.

Oh well, let's hope they've learned their lesson well enough to steer clear of gimmicky QTE's crap in TW3.

I tried your 1st suggestion when I 1st played, actually a few times, but it didn't work. That was when I gave up on it. :-)
