Hello guys,

My HUD is semi-transparent so I can't read everything fine. I compared my ingame hud with screenshots and videos from the internet and mine really is unusual transparent. Furthermore in the menu right after I start the game the screen turns from normal to a little bit darker and I don't know why.

I searched in the internet but couldn't find a problem comparable to mine.

I don't have any mods installed.

My System:
Gameversion: 3.41
OS: Windows 7 64Bit
CPU: Intel i5 2500k
GPU: NVidia GTX 980
RAM: 8GB

Greetings

Try uninstalling GeForce Experience if you're using this tool. It sometimes causes problems.
Don't force any settings in your graphic card's control panel, but let the application decide.
It could also be a driver issue, so older or newer graphic card drivers might be worth a try.
I don't use GeForce Experience and I don't force any settings. I tried a few different drivers (including the newest) but it changes nothing.

Furthermore I even reinstalled the game and deleted all settings files but still nothing.
How about the Intel i5 2500k? It has got an integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics processor. Is it activated? Maybe the presence of two GPUs and the switching between causes this problem. Further The Witcher games have always been prone to graphical glitches on overclocked systems. Make sure your NVidia GTX 980 isn't boosted nor is your system (the CPU cycle multiplier of the 2500k series isn't capped, which makes it easy to overclock).

EDIT: This isn't the solution yet. The best bet is, that it's connected to overclocking.

The integrated HD3000 isn't activated but I overclocked my processor to 4,6GHz and the GTX 980 is overclocked on default by EVGA.

The problem is I currently can't set my CPU to normal speed because I can't access my BIOS at the moment.

EDIT: I marked your message as solution by mistake.

Try disabling all overclocking options in EVGA. I haven't used the tool myself, but I'm sure it it offers such settings.
Sorry I didn't mean the EVGA Precision X software. I meant it is overclocked by the
manufacturer EVGA:

Ah, misunderstanding, sorry. There should still be the option to change its clock somewhere in the drivers or included tools. Do you use Nvidia's GPU Boost? The tool should be able to even underclock your card.

I looked into the drivers but there is no such option and I don't use Nvidia GPU Boost but I really don't think it's a hardware problem.

If I remember correctly I used Nvidia's 3D Vision half a year ago and before that it was fine but I didn't play inbetween and I didn't pay attention to the HUD so it could be wrong. Furthermore I didn't change anything after that (Hardware/Software still the same).

Then uninstall everything connected to 3D Vision and set the graphic card's control panel options back to default. If it's still glitched, disable all enhancement options in the control panel, like AntiAliasing etc. and check again. Maybe one of the newer features in combination with your driver version doesn't work well with the game. We've had this before.
Once it works, you can start turning these option on again, to identify the troublemaker.
