Corylea: But from what I saw of Yennefer in The Last Wish and Blood of Elves, Triss is MUCH nicer than Yennefer. Like Letho, I've never understood what Geralt saw in Yennefer. :-)
Pretty much my opinion too. As to the thread, I agree that at the very least the opening of the game could have taken into account your choice of lover in TW1.
in the witcher 1 Triss had a deeper and older voice, she looked like she was in her mid 30s, now she is like 10 years younger, and twice as annoying, her jokes are not funny, and she thinks she is so hot but she is not.

we still havent seen how yennefer will look and act based on CDKPR concept, they might swist her as they did to Triss. But if she is going to have long black hair, then count me in. I mean how much of a bitch she can be ? certainly not worse than Triss.

Corylea: *laugh* That's sweet of you, and it would be nice if someone added Shani to TW2, but it won't be me. I fell in love with TW1 and got rather obsessed with it, hence all my mods. I like TW2 -- I like it a lot -- but I didn't fall in love with it, the way I did with TW1. It's just a game.
Interesting. Can you be more specific? What does TW2 lack that TW1 doesn't?

Corylea: Only two of the books have been translated into English, so I don't know as much about Yennefer as Polish fans do. But from what I saw of Yennefer in The Last Wish and Blood of Elves, Triss is MUCH nicer than Yennefer. Like Letho, I've never understood what Geralt saw in Yennefer. :-)
I believe a Polish fan here said magic was a driving factor in Geralt and Yennefer's relationship..he was under her spell, so to speak. Sounded like a messed up relationship. Hopefully the success of TW2 sees the other works translated..just ordered the two..would love more.

Yes, Geralt and Yennefer have....

(spoiler?)

Well, they're fated to love each other. They're both each other's "the one"
i haven't read the books, so i don't know about the characters's backstories in detail
so can someone please if shani is even present in the books and if yes, does she have a passing role or is she like one of the main supporting characters ?

Yes, Shani is in the books. I've only read two, but in Blood of Elves we get to see her running around Oxenfurt Academy. Wasn't too big of a role if I remember.

[Minor spoilers concerning the books]
Shani shows up twice. The first time, Geralt and Dandelion are in Oxenfurt and Shani is but a student. Geralt is about to plough her when Dandelion enters the room and they have to flee from or pursue someone (if I remember correctly).
The second time she appears, she's a medic at the battle of Brenna - but doesn't meet Geralt, nor any of the other main characters.
I mean if triss looked like in the concept art I would have like her. she reminded me of Natalie Portman, but in game she just looks ugly. triss vs natalie??

Trust me the both of them were well worth the price, I'm about to search for fan translations from the lack of more coming over here at all since, bah!

I'm also curious why Corylea feels that way. I mean I'm on my 2nd playthrough near the end of Act III but, it's been an amazing ride from both starts, with so much story & completely different outcomes to the upcoming 2nd finish.

Back on topic, I don't know, I'm not fully trusting of Triss but, she's not the same as before she's imho not as controlling or demanding or maybe that's because Geralt's found out she was hiding some things because she wanted him so badly. Although, yes she seems physically younger, she doesn't strike me as scheming as the others in the Lodge. I'm building a lot of endings though, I really can't wait to see how they effect whatever comes out next.

Finally, I must say even some reference to Shani would have been a nice hat tip to those who did import that line, myself included. Even though I really didn't expect it in my other saves, that particular one having nothing, was a bit disappointing.

thanks guys, that explains why she isn't in TW2. she isn't an important character at all.

And I think her presence in TW1 is supposed to be taken as purely incidental by the devs as she is there only on the account of the plague in vizima.
so basically if you romanced shani it wasn't nothing more than a fling.

And i personally find Triss quite sexy , went for her in almost all of my playthroughs in TW1,

Depending on your choices, she reveals all near the end. Very intriguing stuff.

Mv.c9: I imported a save-game upon which in every aspect I chose shanni, and rejected Triss like the plague but then I wake up in the same bed with her in witcher 2 ? why ? and why would I suggest the King I want to take off with her ?

-- this is not really spoiler since all this is already revealed in 1000s of screenshots and playboy magazines and etc . . .

I wont say where is Shani, but why commitment to Triss.

Lol, are you serious?
shani was worth as much as a 100 oren hooker to geralt.
I disagree about the relationship with Shani being "only a fling", since my Geralt decided (in various dialogue options) that he wanted to settle down with her by the end of TW1. I would have really appreciated Triss being in a different tent at the beginning of the game for people who chose Shani.
