I agree it's not easy to be nice in this digital age, because people usually tend to take advantage of other people that are just trying to be nice. Fortunately, the GOG community is mostly civil and polite, one of the few communities out there that we can interact with and have actual interesting conversations.

Another way you could have tackled this issue would have been to say you'd give the code to any one interested, wait for a reply to your post and send the user your code via PM. This way, you could have even made your own choice of the user you felt wanted the code better, or one that wouldn't sell it or redeem it but never play the game because they weren't all that interested in the first place.
