This game looks like it's going to be incredible...It's remarkable to think that the 35 minutes I just spent watching actual game play is only a tiny fraction of the entire game. This is the kind of game I used to dream about making back in the 80's and 90's...and now it's possible! (It's not a lot of fun being ~20 years ahead because your expectations are always too high...;)) Amazing stuff. The tech to do what I've always wanted is finally here and has permeated into the mainstream, at long last. (Still, I'm sure the best experience bar none will be on a suitably equipped PC.) Looks great CDPR!

Geralt has become so real to me over the course of the Witcher games that I feel like I actually *know the guy* and have spent a lot of time with him...:D I love the gritty realism of these games--just great.

I'm wondering how mod-friendly the game will be. What I've seen so far is just stunning.

Edit: Thanks to SilensPoetae below for doing what I forgot and providing a link....;)

For anyone wondering, the 35 minutes gameplay video is here
Yes, the trailer is even better than i was expecting.

The game looks great.
It's like watching an animated movie.....can't wait to see what's gonna happen next
I do worry about what type of pc you will need to run it.

That's what i've always hated about the witcher series with the forced sword only combat that's a stagnant jump back and forth mashing buttons till you get an instant kill random relief of monotony; there just isn't a lot to it than plodding along your railroad shooter with no gun.
I mean if you can't drastically railroad the plot at any point including killing main characters (Thanks Bethesda's Morrowind) then theres not a real meaningful existence of choice.
Keep hands and feet inside the cart at all times and remember to wear your 3D goggles and keep holding the button to keep moving forward.
YAWN
Gotta be honest, even though it may be blasphemy, I've never played any of the Witcher games...yet. I will soon be giving Witcher 2 a go, after I've finished up a couple games I am currently playing. I've never been very good at fighting games (ie. Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, ect.), and it sure looks to me, like a lot of the combat in Witcher games requires much of the same type of timing/button mashing...probably why I have stayed away from them so far. But, I am still intrigued by the videos of game-play I have seen, enough so, that I want to give it a shot. I may very well become frustrated, or even bored by the linear plot enough, that I'll quit. On the other hand, I may be surprised and really enjoy it. Time will surely tell, but the only way I'll know for sure is to give a try myself, and find out.....

Yes, I'm actually not much for twitch shooters, either...;) What I think you are talking about is the same thing I really don't care for, myself...the QTE, or "QuckTimeEvent", which is a timed animation sequence (usually combat of some kind) in which the timing and selection of certain button-presses has to be memorized and repeated in sequence until correctly executed, at which time the player is then allowed to progress within the game. I'm hoping W3 will be completely free of QTEs, or else will provide alternate approaches to situations in addition to QTEs so that those who like QTEs can have them and those who don't can ignore them. As it is, the only one that comes to mind in all of W2 is enough, imo, to break game immersion for awhile. The game literally slows to a crawl while the player again and again practices the QTE until he satisfies the game's timing requirements in order to conclude the combat & get the game moving again.

In W2 the QTE bottleneck has only happened to me once, and it's fair to point out that normal combat in the game is *not* QTE-driven...! The combat is actually a lot of fun and very easy to master--I was surprised by how much fun it actually was--not tedium, but fun...;) So that's the good thing with regard to the game's QTEs: they are few indeed (I can only think of 1 QTE that made me stop and practice a bit before getting through it) and quite distinct from normal combat in the game.

Don't let that 1 QTE stop you! The game is otherwise beautiful and a joy to play--the story is plenty rich enough to keep you interested and coming back for more. Had that particular QTE not been a linear bottleneck that every single player had to complete in the same way--twitch fest--it would have been pretty much a perfect game, imo. This game is a must for your collection--the QTE concern is there, but overblown with that one exception (which you'll discover when you get the game--it is unavoidable.)

Hey, thanks for the 411. I am indeed looking fwd to giving W2 a shot, and it's nice to know I won't need to master several "combos" to progress through all the fighting. As far as these type of adventure games go, although, the main plot may seem to be on a "train rail" as MaceyNeil mentions, I can mostly live with that, as long as the STORY keeps me interested, and keeps me wanting to find out what is going to happen next. I mean, lets face it, pretty much all RPG/Adventure games have a main plot/campaign that you must follow to complete the game...Kingdoms of Amalur, Sacred, Fallout NV, Fallout 3, ect, ect.. As long as there are some nice and varied side quests, and smaller story plots that may influence the game in possibly some minor, or in some cases major ways, I'm a happy camper. W3, just based on what I have scene, heard, and read about so far, certainly looks like a game that will hold my attention. Hoping my foray into the Witcher series with W2 whets my appetite for more bro :)
