Why do some people in The Witcher 2 have no pants? It's pretty odd to see most of the NPCs run around in a loincloth.

Running the 1.2 patch, latest regular (not hotfix) AMD drivers.

Thanks!

I read on a post here awhile back that it is actually supposed to be true to the times.

Don't know if that's the case, or if it is some kind of CDPR joke...
Authentic costuming. Look up "braies". Here's an example of short braies worn with hose: http://cadieux.mediumaevum.com/braies-hosen.html

Workingmen would wear braies without hose, especially in hot weather. Trousers in the modern sense were long out of fashion and wouldn't return until the French Revolution.

damn people are so ignorant.
Well i'll be one to admit, ive never read the Witcher books and had no idea there was "time-period" the games took place in.

I just assumed it was all a complete fictional world with no connection whatsoever with real-world time periods.

Learn something new every day i guess.

BTW: Still look like giant cloth diaper wearers to me regardless...LMAO

Well, the game actually gives dates to all the events that happen, so even though it's a story - it tries to be accurate to the period it is set in.
Peetz,
Did not know that, thanks for sharing the info.

Guess sometimes its too easy to forget how much research and planning goes into making a game as detailed and believable as possible.
