First time playing the Witcher 2 (downloading right now).

I've played Witcher 3 on the hardest difficulty and it was cake walk after Velen (level 9). I bought the witcher sale combo and just finished Witcher 1 on hardest difficulty and it had the same situation; hard in the first Act and cake walk the rest of the game. Will this be the same situation with Witcher 2 Dark mode?

Well, I wouldn't suggest going with Dark difficulty on first playthrough.
Firstly, if you want all the dark sets, you'll have to grind. A lot. The diagrams are pricy, the materials are pricy, even the crafting is pricy. + There is one easily missable item required for crafting the second set, sure you can obtatin it later but by that that time, it won't be worth crafting it anymore.
Secondly, if you want to play on dark only because you play most games on the highest difficulty, then go with hard difficulty, the only difference are the sets, really.
Thirdly, Dark sets are too OP whereas on hard, it's more challanging IMO.

Thanks for the reply. I'll do hard difficulty because of what you said about the dark set that makes the mode easy.
Well if you really want a challenge you can play dark mode without the Dark Outfits. Having played on dark mode in my first playthorugh (not used Dark Outfits) I only found it to be noticeably easier in Chapter 3 (the last one).
