So I am currently plaything through the Witcher 2 on Steam but got my copy of the Witcher 3 on GOG. Can I still transfer my save file over when I start 3? I'm assuming I would just have to load it from a different location? Any feedback appreciated!

Well, I don't have it on steam, but if it doesn't work for steam, just install the gog version and move your save over.

Sad to say that my Steam Cloud savegame for Witcher 2 did not work for WItcher 3 (at least the GOG version....and hey...maybe it will work for you...I didnt spend any time really trying to make it work..i was too intent on playing the game!).

.BUT there is an option to answer some questions form a character in game about events and the decisions you made in Witcher 2, the results of which are applied to the game... and has the same effect as carrying over your savegame..

not sure if there are any bonuses etc that i missed out on, not being able to import my Steam Cloud save.....

But im happy enough to have the opportunity to manually input my decision from part 2 : D
