glosoli: A couple friends that watched me playing TW2 were talking about how similar TW2 and Divinity II is. Then, while waiting for future expansions for The Witcher II, I decided to give Divinity II a go
I started it and played for about 5 hrs. Fighting system, world mapping, camera option, weapon and potion formulas, scrolls and the way they work, skill tree... All very similar to TW2. I just want to hear any of you played Divinity II have the same ideas.
Avydia: I totally disagree with you. Witcher 2 and divinity 2 are completely different games, in terms of graphics, gameplay, plot. It's like comparing a Ferrari to a common utiliy car. How can you say that fighting systems are similar? In divinity 2 all you had to do was click and click and click on your mouse without any strategy ( and i'm not talking about the ridiculous moves and animations)...
The witcher 2 is set in a dark fantasy world and it's known for having complex contents and themes such as political intrigue, racism, and so on... Divinity 2's plot and themes are based upon an ironic / grotesque story, a sort of parody of the fantasy genre...
Man, I don't know wich games you played, but you missed something about witcher 2 or divinity 2, perhaps you missed something about both.
I didn't say anything about story. TW games have the best storylines i've ever played (well second best after Planescape). I beat TW2 on all difficulty options and I'm new to the Divinity. After a couple hours more with Div II, I agree with your opinions about gameplay but other than that, side quests, formulas etc. Div II started to look very similar to the TW2 for me.
I played most of the RPGs and FRPs by the way.

vAddicatedGamer: Is the game any good? I know the reviews aren't stellar but reviews don't always say everything. I played Divine Divinity a long time ago and it was pretty fun.
It's pretty fun yeah. If you played and liked Sacred, you'd like it too.
seekerpat: Divinity II & TW2 are both playable on a PC, that's where the similarities end for me. One has an entirely different aesthetic sense from the other. Divinity II was fun, engaging and pretty to look at. TW2 was fun, involving and pretty to look at. I never felt as drawn into or a part of the story in Divinity II as I did in TW2.
That said I did enjoy playing Divinity II, its a well done action RPG. I'd recommend getting the expanded/enhanced version (Dragonknight Saga). They fixed a lot of bugs & improved the graphics. Plus the sequel is included so you get about 80-100 hours of gameplay.
The Steam summer sale is coming up :D
It was on Steam Weekend Deal and was off about 50%. I mean the Saga version. It's detailed, yeah very detailed but not a TES game ofc :)
scampywiak: Assuming the op means Ego Draconis, which is an excellent game until the part where we get to the fjords and we become a dragon. Then It takes a giant dive in quality. But I spent 40 hrs with it and it does most things very well. Environments are superb, and I'd encourage CDPR devs to study the game closely in this regard. Side quests are also excellent, and the game is very long, not lacking in content at all. The problem is combat, which is nowhere as good as TW2. Not even close, even with all the bugs TW2 has.
In the end, Larian's classic, Divine Divnity is a superior game to Ego Draconis.
Yes, it is Ego Draconis. I just stepped out to the Act II and there are some horrible looking creatures like "Elf Dragon" or something. Nowhere creative near TW games.
