Ok, I have the patches both of them. I was wondering if there is a way to go back to the day one release and still keep the troll trouble dlc file. I was having far more fun before the patches playing the game and wondered if it was new game excitement or what. I want to try the day one release again now that I have several plays under my belt to compare . Do any of you know how I would do that? I realize it means taking the game off and then reinstalling again. I just really wanted to have the Troll Trouble quest in there too if possible. Thanks in advance.

Go to the cookedPC folder and copy the file troll.dzip someplace.

Unistall the game, reinstall without applying the patches and put the troll.dzip file back in the cookedPC folder.

I think that will do it.
troll.dzip does not want to copy. It only allows drag and drop into a desktop holder file. Will that work? Am I missing something basic and being airheaded again? Be honest.
uh...i'm not sure, honest. Computers can be moody you know, sometimes it really is their fault ;)

Right click on troll.dzip and choose copy, then go to your desktop right click on an empty spot and chose paste. Does that work ?
The troll.dzip should also be in your documents-witcher2-downloads.
Just in case you need a backup.

Eureka! Thanks you both. Yes it is in the location you stated Audrey, so that was handy. Also it does right click paste to the desktop, so that was what I guess I should have done :) Sometimes I can be so dense.
It REALLY speaks volumes for the state of the game if someone wants to play without patches.. (certainly not a judgement on the choice, just an observation....not a bad idea tbh, prepatched always worked better for me too, at least the controls work.)

Yeah, probably the "addons" included by deafult (if not removed) ruin the beggining of the game, it also seems that difficulty it's been reworked for the prologue...

So, while starting a new palythrought i was thinking "it seems to easy, do i learn how to play or it's the "patch balancing"? " ...
