-- The Wicher 2 was Great but The Witcher was Awesome
Link to the Original page: Game Mods Core -- The Witcher 2 Review

Now i have seen 4 endings so far, 2 endings on Roche and 2 other endings on iorvet.

The story was Amazing, I loved it, finnaly they talked about Yennefer, they dig deeper within the lore of monsters, I just absolutely loved it. Although i hear many complaining that the game was hard, I find it too easy, but i have to say i have not played on Hard yet, but i was able to play easy and normal and both without dying once. I died once on purpose to see just how would it look like.

The Fact that 90% of NPCs are unique is just amazing, you get to look at the same people all the time, or even if you do, they are not wearing the same thing. that is quite awesome too.

The signs are now more useful, I love Axxi never thought it would be really this useful and even game breaking, back in the official forum i bet with corylea that the Axxi in dialoug would look like jedi mind trick and looks like i won the bet :) -- although quen is a bit over powered. I say remove the 100 damage negation but allow vigor regeneration.

the gore is nothing like i imagined, i was hoping to chop bodies all the way through but unfortunately dismemberment is very rare and mediocer, because when you cut someones hand they dont bleed, whats up with that. gore was something that was missing in the game. but im sure we can fix that with mods.

Everything was amazing about the game, but I somehow feel that the witcher 1 was better, I loved the gore (with this mod) more, I loved the story, it was very dark. also triss was a cougar ! (^_^) i prefer older women so she was like a ripe watermelon for me. and thats what i dont prefer in witcher 2, triss now looks like a 20 year old slut, though i know yennefer is suppose to be more of a bitch but i heard she has a long black hair and that is enough for me, ill duck tape her mouth, if she talks too much.

another thing lacking in witcher 2 was the organized inventory, it drove me insane, i wanted to sell my junk but i couldnt find them, there was no category for it. and also I liked the fact that you could only carry certain amount of weapon that made sense to me. another bothersome thing in the inventory was the unnecessary quest items that never went away, and just populated my inventory and made it confusing, an example is the key to my cell from the begining of the game. why the hell would i need it after wards, cant i just toss it away ? that was a bit uncomfortable.

loved the amount of items in game, the armor and the sword it was just awesome, but still steel swords were far better than other weapon. The other melee options simply didnt had any benefits, for example you can do more dismemberment with axes, no -- there was none of that. but its fine anyway, since they were used by other NPC.

Another things that was a little disapointing was maybe my over expectation of the 16 different endings, I though what they meant was completely different endings which was not like that. they should say 16 different play throughs since you can make 16 BIG differnet choices in the game, but the ending was the same in all of them, you fight the dragon in all of them, you choose what to do with letho in all of them, the only difference is the people that will accompany you, which will be either triss, roche or iorvert. but the endings are all the same.

I loved the game nonetheless, so I give it a score of 8 out of 10, to both witcher games, but they were all awesome and I liked it, and will most likely play them again.

Hope you like it.

It could have been described better, but your actions in the game might substantially alter the balance of power as well as the fate of numerous NPCs you meet. In my first run (a personal-loyalty, merciless angel of justice/death sort of run) --

Notable deaths included
- the king of Kaedwin
- the dragon
- all known Witchers of the School of the Viper
- the Commandant of Flotsam
- much of the Nilfgaardian delegation to the talks (casus belli right there, heh!)
- almost all the Blue Stripes

Notable MIAs include
- probably Iorveth, in Vergen
- Roche, stripped of rank and now an outlaw, on the run with Anais
- Probably both Ves and Dethmold, as well

Vergen fell, Kaedwin lost its head, Anais was missing and Natalis could not hold Temeria together, Nilfgaard's on the march, and a la Valette survived at least to the talks. Sile was isolated from the other sorceresses (and received all the blame), but survived to provide a hint of Yennifer's survival. Probably a fair bit of this was not preordained, but much of it would have reasonable impact in a sequel.

I agree, but about the sequel, for instance I used a savegame that I saved Adda in, but even so the King said that she died. I think that the save games will import only minute stuff with some equipment that in your whole game they were considered the best but in the sequel they will be wimpy pieces of metal that are ok but not that much.

The savegames didnt change anything Major AT ALL, i checked with and without save games, and we only got some mentions -- like iorvet telling you about the other scoiattele (yervin) you joined with or departed with in witcher 1, some hints of thaller in the game that was practically the same. so in reality the save games didnt really changed anything major, and I think that it wont really matter how you end it or with what equipment you end up with. (same thing happened with DA2 saves -- it piratically changed nothing) in the end you will get to experience the same thing.

Are you sure you saved her in your savegame? Foltest said that I saved her when I imported, so that's really strange to hear.

There's supposedly a book that says that she dies regardless of whether you save her or not, but I haven't ever heard of the king getting it wrong.

Are you sure you imported the right save game? My Foltest said Adda is now the queen of Redania, and therefore the nobles would never accept her on the throne.

I guess I need to replay TW1 and kill her to see some other dialog options here.

Same thing here. My imported save with Adda as Queen of Redania worked fine. New Game without import save, she's dead. You prolly picked the wrong option or save at the start of the game.

Also, get the panel mod to add junk category and let you sort your inv by name, weight, newest/oldest item, etc. A must have.

And have a go at Insane diff... best adrenaline source other than parachuting! But Stay Alive! =)

Sure thing. http://www.mediafire.com/?bg47whal73lea9c

Shani romanced. No moonblade because i r dumb and didn't even know about it until a month ago. Adda saved. Witcher neutral path taken, with Siegfried dead-ified on the end of mah sword.

You can upload it to your site if you want. Just thought I'd post it here so you'd see it.
