Up until this morning, I was playing the game with subtitles off and all of the audio was working fine. I loaded up a save about an hour ago and all the voices are missing and subtitles are turned on. The only time I hear voices at all is when there's some kind of extra audio effect (like Triss & Roche echoing in the forest) but that's it. How to get them back?

It happened to me too. In the mission wehre you sneak behind the guard house to evasedrop on the sorceress and the guard commander. I clicked "watch" And then... no more voices.
Restarting didn't help.
I am now downloading the Polish-Languagepack. Maybe that will help....
Reinstalling the game didn't work either. Now after a few seconds I hear no voiceovers anymore. Its the same in every savegame and when I start a new game.
I think I got it. I changed my sound output of my soundcard from 5.1 to 2 channels. Now I have voiceovers again though I don't really know why....
All dialog audio just disappeared aswell.
No matter what i try (reloading, new game ect) the audio on any type of dialog is gone.

I can hear footsteps and various other stuff, just nothing on dialog of any type.

It all started when i started the mission where had to sneak behind a guard house and listen in on a conversation, then puff no sound (as previous poster mention).

p.s g35 headset. No options to do anything, frakking logitech.

Just did the same thing and my voices are back, too! Weird. I never changed any of my sound options, but it's good to know there's a fix nonetheless

EDIT: Mistakenly put the post directly above this one as the solution. TWO posts above is the solution, my bad.

Let's not call it "fix", lest they might be encouraged not to patch it :P

It's a workaround and an ugly one. Surround sound does a lot for the immersion.
I think you hit the wrong person with the "solution" star, i certainly didn solve anything. ;)

How do i do this, change audio channel ect?. Nm i cant, stupid G35 headset.

I hit the same bug in the same spot. Grrrrrrrr
Update: I have voices again now, even with the same audio settings I had before.

Saldy I'm not quite sure what did it because I changed so many settings since then.
I enabled "creative alchemy" for TW2. Also I changed my creative audio settings from gamemode to musicmode and back. I also disabled any other audiodevices in windows audio settings.
This topic has not been solved, I have a G930 headset, same problem. I cannot change the settings though, afaik. Still no voices. =/
Got g930 and the same issue :\
i resolved switching sound device while the game is running, then restart the game with g930 as default device :) how i can hear dialogue
I have the exact same issue with a Xfi extreme gamer and a 5.1 setup. After the sneaking mission in Flotsam, the voices are completely gone. I am hearing music and sfx but no voices. They only come back when I switch to 2.1 Not to mention that sound doesn't work at all when in 7.1

Not that this is necessarily the only place it happens, but there are several reports (including my own) that link the sound problems to this particular bit of plot/area.
Yup as i mention above (maybe not as clearly). That flotsam sneak mission is exactly where i lost the sound.

The second i got up that window to "listen" in, the sound went bye bye. And that included all of my saves + new game. =/
