I used GOG to download the game (twice). When I click on play it goes to syncing 0% for a second and then just the play button again. Can anyone please help?

Sounds like a problem with Galaxy, rather than W2. Have you tried disabling cloud saves?

Thanks. I now tried that and now it greys the Play button out for a second. Still nothing.

If I'm not mistaken The Witcher 2 is a 32 bit program and Mac will no longer run 32 bit programs. I know that there are fixes out there but I don't know what they are.

This is the description from the product description page on gog.com for the witcher 2

Can't it just be that the game doesn't run with Catalina? From the system requirements page:

Mac notice: The game is 32-bit only and will not work on macOS 10.15 and up.
