Good morning everyone,

I know Steam propose the Witcher 2 for Linux but this is not the case on gog. Is there any plan to have the installer for linux? Also, will there be a GOG downloader for linux in the futur?

First, the TW2 Linux port on Steam isn't a true port as it still used the Windows binaries with the eON wrapper, much like running TW2 with Wine. The current state of the port on Steam is very early, it has a number of performance issues and problems. From what has been said about this before, GOG will most likely get the Linux version once the performance issues and bugs are minimized, when that will be is anyone's guess.

About the GOG downloader, there currently is an open source Linux downloader provided by the community, more info can be found here: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/lgogdownloader_gogdownloader_for_linux/page1

GOG is working on a new client called GOG Galaxy and I think it should have a Linux version, more info can be found here: http://www.gog.com/galaxy

THis is excellent news!

I didn't try yet the witcher 2 on Linux on steam because... frankly I prefer gog and I heard the profits go directly to cd projekt and I want to help them. But at the same time, I am getting more and more fond of my Ubuntu 14.04! Much more than my Windows 7 and 8 .... so.. yeah.

I know how hard it is to port to Linux which is an entirely different beast than developping for Windows but it IS more fun to do.

I can't be happier that gog is working on native Linux support. I totally forgot about gog galaxy but I'll look at the open source gog downloader!

Thanks a lot for the infos!
