I am having the Troll Trouble issue where the quest downloaded, but I cannot access it in game. In attempting to attempt one of the proposed fixes of reregistering with everything in all caps (unsure if I did this), I needed to reset my password (since I forgot it).

I input the email address, it informs me that I am being sent the password (or steps to fix it), but it has been 3 hours now and I have not received any email.

This happen to anyone else? Now I have a game that doesnt recognize my registered status, and a registration account with no password.

Patch up to 1.1 at the very least (1.2 is recommended, though), because it includes the Troll Trouble DLC and fixes a bunch of problems people were having downloading it separately. It also removes DRM--assuming you have a version other than GOG's--which makes it run faster and eliminates the need to register.

All DLC is included in 1.2, so there's no need to download any of it separately (except for the optional Polish language pack, which you can download from here).
